Meet Sabrina Wiggins | MBA & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Wiggins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabrina, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Have a little pep talk with yourself. Ask yourself if this is fulfilling. If you know what you’re doing impacts others, then giving up is not an option. Sometimes, you may have to pivot a little, but if you are passionate about what you are doing, it will drive you to keep going.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I began my journey as an entrepreneur by starting a small publishing company called “Little Aiden Press”. I named it after my grandson, Aiden, because I wanted to make sure that children like him see representation in the stories they read. It was a proud moment for me when I became a published author, but what made it even more meaningful was publishing a book in honor of my cousin after his passing. His voice gets to live on through the pages of his book.
Becoming a self-published author was a challenging yet rewarding experience. Asking others to help you does not always get met with a “yes,” and when you get nothing, you have to roll up your sleeves, research, and get it done. I made some mistakes, but with those bumps in the road, I could get to the finish line.
Remember, just because you ask for help doesn’t mean you will be met with pleasantries, but don’t let that stop you. Google became my best friend, and I figured it out. There is always a way to get to the finish line as long as you are determined.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When you live near the Nation’s Capitol (Washington DC), there are plenty of things to do in the city. Go take a stroll downtown, checking out the sites and a museum. Who doesn’t love music? Find a spot in the evening to wind down, have a nice cocktail, and listen to music. There are many places to eat, depending on your taste buds. You must find a spot to grab some seafood, and if you like crabs, then indulge a little. Head to the National Harbor, ride the Ferris Wheel and see the city from the sky at night. Sometimes, you have to plan on the go.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My daughters, Talia and AJ, have always been my driving force, but once I became a grandmother to Aiden, he made me want to push even more.
