We had the good fortune of connecting with Remadee Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Remadee, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
In 2022 I had to make one of the most difficult decisions of my life. At that time I had my company Enutopia, a visual production company in Atlanta, GA. The company was doing extremely well, I had employees, loyal clients, and the was bringing in over 6 figures revenue a year. However, I had reached a point where my passion for the business had faded. The money was no longer enough to keep me motivated, I was drained. I had created the company to not only support myself but to invest in my music career; my number 1 passion. Enutopia was consuming all of my time and I had no energy to invest in music. In 2022 I decided to take a leap of faith and sell the company in order to invest in my music career.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been doing music for 8 years now. My brand embodies class, boldness, strength, and power. I want people to hear my music and feel confident while also wanting to turn up and have a good time. You should hear my songs and feel powerful and in your bag! What sets me apart is the fact that I’m very conscious of my lyrics and want to make sure anything I’m saying is something I would be comfortable with someone affirming for themselves. If I write it, it must be something that you can say over and over again in your head and it will positively affect your psyche.
My journey to where I am today has been filled with challenges, but each obstacle has served as a stepping stone toward growth. I started my life in corporate at the NBA making $80k per year but was unfulfilled. I left that career behind and became a middle school teacher and activist in my community. While doing all of those things I still felt lost when it came to my purpose. I experienced a very severe heartbreak and began writing music everyday. After doing that for about a month I knew it was my purpose in life and I have never stopped pursuing it since.
I battled with homelessness, depression, and anxiety over the course of this 8 year journey. It has not been easy, but through perseverance, dedication, and belief in myself, I have overcome every hurdle that has come my way. I also learned that leaning into love and support from friends and family is the best form of medicine we can receive on this earth. My own personal strength helped a great deal but I know that God has protected and guided me every step of the way. I lean into my faith each and everyday, I would not have made it this far without God.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the power of your mindset. You have to be resilient. Everyone is going through something, but only certain people push through those obstacles. I know the importance of embracing failure as an opportunity for growth and learning. Every setback has ultimately propelled me forward on my journey.
Regardless of where you come from or what obstacles you face, you have the power to overcome and achieve greatness.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I’m being honest I am a homebody. I find the most peace being at home with my friends; cooking for them, watching movies, and dancing in the living room lol. If I were to go anywhere it’d probably be a yoga event, group meditation, or something relaxing. My friends honestly always want me to cook for them, they literally wouldn’t care about going out to eat lol.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout a very important mentor in my life. She’s an unofficial mentor because we never verbally confirmed her as my mentor lol. However, Melanie Collins deserves all of my love, flowers, and support. She has shown me what it means to be strong, to stand true on your beliefs, and that there is no such thing as a dream that is too big. She is one of the most real women I have ever met in my life. Melanie previously provided me with a job opportunity at a non-profit in my hometown. During my time at the non-profit I gained a new family through the staff and students. It was the first job I ever worked in my life where I was excited and motivated to show up each and everyday. If it were not for that job I don’t think I would have the fire, and fuel to so passionately chase my dreams today!
