We had the good fortune of connecting with Reagan Zottnick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reagan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have a toddler and, as he continues to grow, I want a flexibility that allows me to be present for him.

What should our readers know about your business?
I never imagined myself as a business owner and still not 100% certain how I got here. I went to school as an art major and have always loved textures and colors, in an abstract way. I also have a passion for being in the kitchen. After just playing around with charcuterie for events with friends and family, I decided to offer Valentine’s charcuterie boxes to friends and it started from there. I decided on a name and logo, got my LLC, rented a kitchen and got my license and insurance. Figuring out all of the steps to take was a challenge but, found some great support that helped to guide me. I still ask myself everyday where this is going. I hold down a full time job while also raising a toddler, which he will always be my top priority when determining what comes next. What I have enjoyed most is being a part of so many clients special events… weddings, graduations, retirements, memorials, births, birthdays, the list goes on. I have also had the opportunity to meet so many great people and build some relationships, especially in my local community.. I would say what makes Meats to Sweets unique is that each board is personally created with the freshest artisan cheeses, meats and accompaniments, as well as each includes a homemade sweet. It means so much when a client compliments those because they are all made especially for that board.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely make it to the Battery to hang out in the green space and enjoy some good eats. If it is game day, we are getting a burger from H&F. The Beltline is a must. We would start at Ponce City, head towards Krog Street and take in a few cocktails along the way. We would visit Marietta Square and have drinks and dinner at Mac’s and enjoy a drink over at Glover. The Avalon would be a must for dinner and some shopping.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been so fortunate to have an amazing support group on this journey. My husband, hands down, has been there for it all and somehow puts up with me and my crazy ideas. My friend group has been there every step of the way, placing orders, getting my name out in the community, watching my child so I can get to an event, you name it, they have been amazing!
