Today we’re excited to be connecting with Rayeanna Motley Channer again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Rayeanna, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
I still remember the feeling of holding my first camera. I had no clear direction, no specific goal, just a deep desire to capture the world around me. It all started with street photography. At 18 years old everything was fresh, new, and exciting! I remember doing photo walks around the city so often that I would come home to my feet sore—I never cared. It was my escape, a way for me to pay attention to the small moments. It is what birthed my initial desire for exploration, and although those early shots were not my best work, I still look back with fondness for those memories.

Throughout my journey, I discovered my love for Timelapse photography—a perfect blend of still imagery and motion. Witnessing the variations of light and time blend together was similar to watching a slow dance. It has always been so riveting to see and it deepened my appreciation for visual storytelling. This appreciation eventually led me to pursue filmmaking, where I deepened my understanding of the art both practically and creatively. In my spare time between projects and gigs, I found solace in capturing the landscapes and cityscapes around me. It was those quiet moments where I developed a deeper connection to my environment, embracing the beauty in places I had never noticed before.

For the past six years, I’ve been dedicated to refining my craft, constantly learning and pushing myself to capture Timelapse’s in new ways. It’s a simple concept, yet the process is anything but. Every shot requires patience, planning, and an understanding of the environment. It requires analyzing the landscape, measuring the perfect composition, and gauging for just the right moment. It definitely challenges me, and that’s what keeps me inspired.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Over the years, timelapse photography has taken me across different styles and subjects. I’ve had the opportunity of capturing some of the most beautiful waterfalls and mountain views of the south to the vastness of the stars, the Milky Way, and still to my surprise, the Aurora. As my work evolved, so did my passion for travel, which allowed me to capture more of what I love not just through timelapse photography alone but also through other artistic mediums as well. Recently, I’ve found myself returning to street photography, and this renewed passion even led me to make a dedicated creative page to showcase my work, which feels like a full circle moment. It has been an exciting journey thus far, and I look forward to expanding my experience with more travel to other environments that I have yet to explore.

Alright, so let’s do something a bit more fast-paced and lighthearted. We call this our lightning round and we’ll ask you a few quick questions.
