We had the good fortune of connecting with Randy Mallard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My motto for both my brand and my life is “what you give is what you get” Risk taking is all about your belief system. Do you believe in yourself enough to get out of your comfort zone? Are you clear on your vision? No matter what obstacles come your way, are you committed enough to your values? Are you willing to see through NO MATTER WHAT? You have to bet on yourself. You will either learn from it or earn from it.
I am just a guy from Indiana, first generation college student. I grew up in an area where people didn’t discuss the future much. I did not know much about success, or how my life would pan out. I just always knew I wanted more.
I started my brand Energy Xperience based on a vision God gave me. I made up in my mind that I would choose impact over impression. When people didn’t believe me, I still showed up. When I didn’t know where the money would come from, I still showed up, because I believed in the experience that only I could provide. I believed that no one else could do it like me.
There have been many instances that I have faced the uncertainty regarding my career choices. Am I choosing a career that builds someone else’s dream? I had to ask myself, is this my destination, or a vital part of my journey. I then had to change my perspective to understand that each part of your journey is a learning opportunity.
Risk is the exposure to someone or something valued. Taking risks involves a certain resilience and toughness that not everyone is capable of . It’s that crazy faith. But it only seems crazy, until it happens.
What should our readers know about your business?
CREATING A BRAND THAT RESEMBLES ENERGY IN ALL AREAS OF LIFE GIVES SUBSTANCE TO EVERY DAY LIVING. I CREATED ENERGY XPERIENCE TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO POUR INTO THOSE WHO NEED MORE THAN JUST A FITNESS BRAND, BUT AN XPERIENCE THAT CANNOT BE FOUND ANYWHERE ELSE.
TAKING LEAPS AND FOLLOWING MY VISION LEAD ME TO WHERE I AM WITH ENERGY XPERIENCE. IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY BUT WORTH IT. IVE LEARNED THE VALUE OF STARTING A BUSINESS. NO MATTER THE SIZE OF THE CORPORATION, I TRULY VALUE THE FACT THAT ANYONE RUNNING A BUSINESS TRULY IS ACTING OFF OF FAITH.
I WANT TO PROVIDE PROOF THAT IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. YOU’LL BE CLOUDED BY ALL THE HARD WORK BUT WHEN IT COMES A TIME TO CELEBRATE EVEN THE SMALLEST ACHIEVEMENT MAKE SURE YOU DO.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If the weather is great and we are looking for drinks with amazing food I love going to the Avalon! It’s always a win for me.
Other Places for sure are:
The Belt Line
Pin and Proper
Check out all these spots!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many people that have played a huge role in my continued growth but these individuals have had the most impact.
The mentorship and guidance from Terry Siddall has been truly a blessing. From all the jokes and life lessons he’s been able to provide a perspective that I wasn’t able to see growing up.
My spiritual health keeps me sane especially during the pandemic when the world felt like a stand still. Mike Todd, Pastor of the Transformation Church in Tulsa, Ok provided an H.O.T (Humble Open & Transparent) connection with God that makes sense with my current state of living.
My last but most important shoutout is to my wife and kids. In a home with my daughters and wife it gives me a sense of pride when I wake up ready to tackle life for the ladies of my life. Taking risks become easy if it will make them happy.
