We had the good fortune of connecting with Rami Tawfik and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rami, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I honestly just been training my mind on how to not care about what people think anymore. Like I already know no matter what, people are gonna talk sh*t, they are gonna make fun of you, they are gonna talk about you behind your back, etc. Like I just got myself to the point that none of those people matter. Haters don’t matter. I try not to over think things as much as I did when I first made music. I’m a huge introvert, but I gotta come out the shell when it comes to this music stuff. As an artist thats what im trying to keep in mind. You gotta get out the shell.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I first started making music I think I was a very shy artist. Right now I think I am really making some classics in my discography. I know i’m still in my rookie years, but I really am coming up with some great music. Different genres in hip hop too. I’m trying to infuse some rock into my songs, even though they are hip hop songs. Pop as well. I think I am branching out, and discovering all the things I can do for real. My biggest song out right now called “Stranger Things” is one of the most unique songs I have heard. I can’t even explain it, I think thats why people appreciate it. I always see people adding it in their playlists. Mainly chill vibes. I guess thats where I am at right now haha. I’m a chill artist. Some people say I got a lazy, raspy, chill voice. I guess that’s cool hahah. Anyways I don’t know if you could call me a pro yet… I mean I make decent money off this sh*t so I guess. I got way too many challenges to write down, but I will say this world is a mental health roller coaster. Be safe when coming into this world. My advice is don’t trust anybody. Even if you like them. Trust only yourself in this industry. There are sharks in this game. Snakes. Scavengers… People are scary man. Trust only YOU. You will always succeed that way. Be your safe zone. Don’t let everybody in your life. I want the world to know that i’m just a kid wanting to make a beneficial change in the world. I’m not just an artist. I am a person with a huge heart for real, and I use my music to let out all my emotions. A lot of sh*t that I go through/went through is the stuff that I know all y’all go through too. Use me as your therapy. That’s what i’m here for. I want y’all to know i’m y’alls friend first before anything else.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
No matter where you go in Atlanta, you will always find entertainment. I’m not really the type of person to go out and go into the depths of the city life. I really like more relaxing settings. Again I’m a huge introvert haha. If anything if you’re visiting we obviously gotta hit up Lenox, and probably just walk around the city. The city’s got amazing vibes, I just can’t live it 24/7. I stay out of the way, and in the more calm part of GA.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to shoutout all the artists, producers, and creators I have got to work with. Shoutout to my family and fans for their support too. Everybody apart of the journey really, I just appreciate. Shoutout to all you guys.
