We had the good fortune of connecting with Raeven Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raeven, if you are a parent, what do you think is the most important thing you’ve done as a parent in terms of the impact on your children?
The most important thing that I have done to impact my daughter is by being open and vulnerable. It is imperative that you are willing to learn so, being open to feedback is key. Being a mom is an entirely new experience for me and each day I’m learning what works for my family and I.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about.                             I’m currently operating two businesses that at this time. My first company is called Be Ambitious Designs. We focus on marketing and branding for new and start up businesses. The Second company is called The Brown Girls Creative Studio. It’s designed for black women in tech to help assist company to expand their leads and company revenue.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise.                                     I kept applying myself to understand the importance of marketing for one’s business. By doing that I put my self into position that allowed me to express my marketing skill set and applying it to my daily role. Which allowed me to understand how to properly identify the marketing needs and services with my clients.

Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?                                It was a process because I had to understand the importance of being a business owner operating a business focusing on marketing. I went through many stages from having interest in building a computer, to coding, branding, designing websites and now focusing on demand generation. Which focus on the lead flow and revenue  I have learned what to look for along the way.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.                                            Do something you actually enjoy. Find your niche, a business that make you feel as though you are making a difference, no matter how small or large.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?            I want the people to know it’s not about how you start your journey but how you end it. I went down the whole role of marketing until I understand what niche really worked for me. I knew since starting the journey. I wanted to be the person who identify the company problem and come up with the solution.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area pand you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc. In your view what are some of the most fun, interesting, exciting people, places or things to check out?                                                                                    We would travel on the Glacier Bay cruise to enjoy the access to wildlife. We would pick the pinnacle suite, which is one of the luxury rooms that gives you the option to relax in while enjoying the sights of the Glacier Bay Cruise. The 8 day itinerary will consist of;

Day 1: Seattle Embark late afternoon

Day 2: At Sea

Day 3: Juneau

Day 4: Glacier Bay

Day 5: Sitka, Alaska

Day 6: Kethikan, Alaska

Day 7: Victoria, British Columbia

Day 8: Disembark in the morning

While on the cruise we would definitely enjoy the Greenhouse Spa and Salon , live concerts, drinks, night clubs, and of course the food.

While visiting the Juneau port. I would love to try the Tracy Arm Fjord Tour. It is a 7 hour tour on a smaller boat that takes you through Tracy Arm Fjord and gets you up close with a glacier. We would also take a trip to see whales.

While visiting Victoria, British Columbia. I would love to enjoy my time at the Butchart Gardens. The layout is magnificent and each new garden is just as gorgeous as the last, if not more so.
