We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Centanni & Breanna Piispanen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, Breanna, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is often necessary for growth. As long as you aren’t hurting others or yourself, taking a risk could be the most pivotal point of your life. Leaving a full time steady job to start a small business together was the biggest risk we have ever taken. It took a substantial amount of thought, research, planning, and ultimately trust to start building our dream work environment. We have to trust not only in ourselves, but trust that the risk will be worth it. Risk usually has such a negative connotation attached to it. We are aware of the risks and it can be scary, but more so for us, it is scary necessary. To give ourselves and our clients a space built with love, bravery, and inspiration has been the most beautiful experience. We are both immensely proud of the risk that we have taken. Pulling Daisies was founded by overcoming risk and the belief that with hard work and a positive mindset, the risk will become reward.

What should our readers know about your business?
Being two girls in their twenties, the idea of starting a business almost felt impossible. We started playing around with the idea of starting a business together a little over a year ago. Once the new year of 2021 hit, after everything we went through in 2020, we knew it was now or never. The most motivating aspect of starting our own business was the creative freedom. We wanted to create a calm, homey atmosphere where we could take our time servicing our clients with less pressure of hitting a sales goal and more concentration on turning a waxing appointment into a fun pampering hangout! Turning these dreams and ideas into reality has not been easy. Neither one of us have ever done anything like this before! We met each other at our previous workplace and formed a trusting bond over the years. Having a partnership has made the challenges easier to overcome and we couldn’t imagine not having each other through this journey. In metaphorical ways of the business, Breanna is the head and Rachel is the heart. We are both imperative to the life of Pulling Daisies Esthetics & Waxing. We want the world to know that anyone is capable of accomplishing anything they want in this life, even getting a Brazilian wax!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We both love nature so a hike up Kennesaw Mountain is a must since it is local to us! To continue with the nature appreciation we would plan on a trip to Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Gibbs Gardens! Interesting plans would include a visit to the High Museum and Fernbank Museum! We would definitely have to get dinner at Mary Mac’s Tea room for the best southern cuisine in Atlanta. For nightlife, we would go to Joystick Gamebar and enjoy their unique drinks and game collection!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
