We had the good fortune of connecting with Pierre Dubois and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pierre, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
That is all I know ! I have founded or cofounded 3 companies these past 20 years.
So when we landed in Atlanta with my family 4 years ago, after a year to settle down, I started thinking about the business I could start here.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our company, DashStylists.com, is a startup, mostly because we use Internet to promote et distribute our services and because we expect a rapid growth. About startups, you often hear from potential stakeholders (investors, coachs, accelerators …) this question : how your company is going to change the world ? Of course everybody understands the rhetorical aspect of the question, but still it has always sounded a bit … grotesque to me.
So at DashStylists we usually answer that at-home haircuts won’t certainly not change the world, but can make it much more comfortable for a whole bunch of people.
That is this sort of approach that sets us appart, we try to do something that is useful, that is smart and we try to take the bullshit out of it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a food and restaurant addict, so my list includes a few “food” places : – Miller union, the best restaurant in the city in my opinion
– Das BBQ
– The Alden
Westside provision district, I like the atmosphere
Oakland cemetery, although it is a … cemetery, the views of the city are insane and the atmosphere is super peaceful.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife, Veronique ! Of course along the way you meet wonderful people who help you just guided by their generosity, but all this year she has constantly supported me and she bears with me every day, so the shoutout is definitely for her.
