Today we’re excited to be connecting with Pam Brand again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Pam, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
We’re Pam and Sara Brand, food bloggers at Biscuits and Burlap. We focus on southern food but do sometimes venture outside that cuisine. Very often you’ll find us preserving old southern foodways, but we like to add a new updated twist to the longstanding recipes too.

In December, 2024, we celebrated 10 years of Biscuits & Burlap. Our strength lies in the sense of camaraderie we feel with our readers. Our mission is to continue strengthening the ties that time together in the kitchen or around the table bring.

In early 2024 we branched out and began a new, but related brand, Discovering Coastal Georgia. DCG is a local and travel site that focuses on the 100 miles from St Mary’s Georgia in the south to Savannah in the north. We’re sharing not just the food on the coast, but everything else about our favorite place in the world!

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Biscuits and Burlap will always be our homebase. The food and recipes are at the heart of everything we do. In fact, much of the inspiration has been found in the seafood, fresh fruits and veggies and more found along the coast. Therefore, the expansion to a Georgia coast based site was a natural progression of our journey.

Pam has actually relocated from a small town outside of Atlanta to St. Simons Island and Sara is soon to make that move too. The small city of Brunswick is considered the gateway to the Golden Isles, but it has its own personality and great community vibes. Brunswick is where Sara plans to call home very soon.

As we get dug into our new coastal area we’re loving discovering coastal Georgia and sharing it with the world!

What do you want people to remember about you and your brand? What are some of things that you feel are most important, unique, special, etc?
We want people to always feel that we’re here to help them. Whether it’s making a bowl of ambrosia just like your Grandma used to make or finding a hidden gem of a hotel or restaurant on the coast we’re here for you.

Our readers are why we do what we do.
