We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paige, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I know that in order for me to grow and become the person that I am destined to be, it involves me doing things that I may have never done before. My future requires me to take risks. It requires me to leave my comfort zone. When taking risks, I try not to think about it as failing or succeeding. It has been said that “Failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of success”. I learned early, as a child playing sports, that the key to success is learning how to fail. Failure can make us stronger, smarter and more resilient. Failure can also develop persistence. All of which I think we need to live a life filled with success and run a successful business. Lastly, taking risks gives me the opportunity to exercise my faith. I know that no matter what the outcome is, it will all work out my good. If you’re currently having a difficult time dealing with the uncertainty that comes with taking risks, believe that success is on the other side. Trust the process!

What should our readers know about your business?
Our Business is ELIFEAPPAREL and Consulting. ELIFE is an acronym for Evolving Leading Inspiring & Fulfilling Excellence. Our goal is to inspire and motive our clients or “ELIFERS” to be the best versions of themselves. We are constantly reminding them that is okay to evolve on a daily basis. In order to experience growth- you have to be willing to grow. Those who wear ELIFEAPPAREL aren’t merely wearing a brand or label; they’re wearing a lifestyle and a license to be authentic. What sets us apart is our connection with many of our consumers, as we are able to touch many of them up close in the many markets we serve; furthermore, many of our consumers are connected to us via social media- and we reply to the many who send us tons of messages. At ELIFEAPPAREL, we offer many different types of apparel, from stylish, inspirational and relevant t-shirts for both men and women, to the “Dream” collection which is our stylish t-shirts for kids.

I am always proud to see others wearing the Elifeapparel brand. I am very excited for what’s to come in the future and how the business plans to expand and further spread its message about being your best self and living an authentic life.

As a business owner, I quickly realized that there are different stages that a business will go through. I experienced an entrepreneur emotional roller coster. Knowing that challenges are inevitable, to overcome them I try to keep a growth mindset and expand my learning. The more knowledge you have, the better your decision making will be. I have learned to not get emotionally distracted instead stay focused on my goals. Speaking from experience, we cannot let our emotions decide what we do next. When in doubt, I always go back to my “why”. I think about the bigger picture and why I started.

I want the world to know that Elifeapparel is a brand that believes in self love and promotes being your best authentic self.
Control the narrative of your story. Unapologetically let your light shine. There is greatness within each of us. Let’s embrace it as a gift to society with no apologies!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of the places to visit in Atlanta are Botanical gardens, Little 5 Points, High Museum for Friday night music, Grant Park, and the GA Aquarium. We would definitely go checkout the Atlanta food truck park. For organic, vegan, or locally grown food options we would take a trip to Dekalb farmer’s market or Shamba. Lastly, for entertainment we would checkout an event at Chastain Park or Centerstage, and maybe go to Eddie’s Attic for a more intimate setting. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As I reflect, I would like to dedicate this shoutout to two amazing people who have been very influential in my life.

Bakia Parrish, Director of Administration for the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budgeting (OPB) in Atlanta, is not only my aunt, but has been my mentor my entire life. She has played a major role in my upbringing and creation of the woman I am today.
I would like for her to know that I appreciate her for believing in me. I am grateful for her love, endless support and wisdom that she gives so freely.

Keith L. Brown, Mr. IM-POSSIBLE, America’s #1 Empowerment Coach, International Speaker and Trainer, & Coach B., has been incredibly helpful and supportive throughout my transition from an in the classroom teacher to being an entrepreneur, creating my own lane. I have grown so much since joining the I’m Possible Institute. I would like for him to know that I am extremely thankful for his services and genuine love and support for his clients.
