We had the good fortune of connecting with Oprah “Zip” Bradford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Oprah “Zip”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I just started. Honestly, I believe in organic branding and believing that your audience will find you. I will be the first to say 2020 wasn’t my best year in my brand. I rarely posted on my website and I was very uninspired, but I was stunned by the numbers and views I did. My readers held me down even when I was down, and I’m forever grateful.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Whew, where do I start really lol? First off, I’m always grateful and happy when opportunities like these come to me. It’s a gentle reminder that lets me know I’m on the right path despite how I feel on the daily. My vision is MINE and that’s something no one can take away. I have off days where I want to throw in the towel, but I also remember the days where I inspired others and that keeps me going. I made a name for myself, I can say that. Maintaining it and being consistent is the life key. Everyday, I’m striving to keep it alive and I will.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
All my real besties live in the same city/state as me lol! I’m from Louisiana baby! Despite Cov-id, we would probably do a night in the city of New Orleans and do a late breakfast afterwards lol. That’s it. Period.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give this section to God period. Without him, I wouldn’t be nothing and my brand wouldn’t be nothing either. I spread love to all the ones who supported the zip movement in 2020.Just know I’m going harder in 2021…
