Meet Opeoluwa Anifowoshe | Musician/Field Service Technician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Opeoluwa Anifowoshe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Opeoluwa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
At a Very Young Age I have always had the passion to entertain People with My musical skills. I never knew relocating to the United States would elevate me to this level. I am a professional DJ, with experience of about 17years as we speak. A little reflection on how My Story Started. During My High School Senior Year Back in 2007, we were having our final get-together, which was a banquet, The organizer had nothing to entertain the audience with musically. Being part of the planning committee, with the knowledge that the event will kick off in 2hours I suddenly suggested that I had a DVD player and a sound system we could at least use just to play some music. Immediately, My Gym coach took me home to get it since I was a little less than 5 mins away from the school. I only had the first Robin Thicke Album (The Evolution of Robin Thicke), That was what we played throughout the entire banquet which saved the day.
As the music was playing in the background, The teachers and students were enjoying their conversations, mingling and totally enjoying the atmosphere while having dinner. The Smile on their faces made me realize that I could actually do this for a living if I became a professional Disc Jockey on the long run it will be a dream come true. I went back home that night, started my research on the Internet for the kind of equipment I Could use in the future, How to mix and blend, looking for mentors that were already living the dream Like Grand Master Flex, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Many More helped boost my ability as a Disc Jockey Now. For about a year straight after that banquet, I practiced my mixing to perfection, released mixtapes, DJed for Weddings, House parties and so on. In My portfolio, I have been opportuned to DJ For One Music Fest Here in Atlanta, GA at Piedmont Park, Top Afrobeats artiste like Davido & Tekno. I have been fortunate to take my skills round the world, DJed on Cruises, Destination Weddings, Birthdays and Many NMore. The influence of my skills as a professional drummer with 31 years of experience made it so easy to be able to infuse the Mixing and Blending of R&B, Hip-Hop, Reggeaton into the Current Viral Genre of Afrobeats.
Music is Art, it is consumable for the soul. Nothing brings me more Joy than seeing people set aside their worries or troubles and just enjoy the moment. Amongst so many of my skills are, Photography, Videography, Sound System Installation And Live Sound Setup for Audio and Video Production. During my down time, I enjoy working on DIY projects and learning new technical skills to improve my business in various ways. About 10 Years Ago, I came to figure out that using your gift/talent can actually get you the financial stability you need or want. I started researching how to invest and establish My Business As a Professional Disc Jockey. Back in the day, people only DJ just to show off their skills, thinking only Djing for clubs or concerts can make them money, not knowing how it could actually be a full time job to Do and venturing into other potential connections.
Now, I get to travel around the world doing what I Love to Do Best As Musician and Very Talented Disc Jockey. It is truly an Honour to have been nominated to Tell My Story and I hope this inspires as many people as possible who might want to venture into this lucrative business of been a Disc Jockey.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Just to be plain and direct, I Am A Professional Disc Jockey (DJ), I have officially turned it into a business in the sense that, I get booked for Weddings, Birthdays, Corporate events, concerts and other festivities that Inquire my services. It really hasn’t been a smooth path getting to this level but as time goes on you learn along the way and it never stops because you have to do things to improve and get better at what you do.
My Musical background sets me apart because I am able to infuse that talent for people to enjoy the transitions and mixing from a different direct, It makes them wander and allows them to forget whatever might have them worried, completely leaving it and sweating it out on the dance floor.
This business grew when I started offering, Uplighting Services, LIVE SoundSetup, Technical Support with the knowledge I have as a Field Service Technician, Including Videography & Photography Services. Having multiple talents could really pave the way for anyone depending on how go about it.
Still learning and putting much more effort to make the business grow beyond servicing the United States.
