We had the good fortune of connecting with Nyah Sneed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nyah, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Portland, Oregon, but I was raised in South Fulton, Georgia.
According to my mother, I was two years old when we left Portland so I consider Georgia where l’m from. Georgia is all I know.

I grew up in church. I was raised in the church. I remember getting up Sunday morning and putting on my church dress and my church shoes and I enjoyed going to church. When I was younger I didn’t like the fact that I came from church, because I felt like it made me different but now that I’m older I’m glad that’s where I come from. My mother always taught us (my siblings and
I) about karma and you reap what you sow and to always remain humble and to pray and to keep and put God first, and it’s the little things like that that have had a big impact on me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, I’ll start with my business PurposelyNatural. When I first started PurposelyNatural, it was in December 2019. I was 17 years old and my family and I were staying in a hotel. When I first started my business, I thought it was gonna be easy. I thought my business was going to blow up and go viral on social media and I was gonna make so much money. That’s not what happened at all. I had a lot to learn about marketing, formulating and the legal side of business, etc. but I just kept reading, learning and growing and eventually I got the hang of things.

Now let’s get onto acting.
Every since I was a child, I’ve always wanted to be an actress, but I didn’t decide that’s what I wanted to do career wise until I was 15 but I didn’t start taking it seriously and pursuing it until I was 20 going into 21. When I was a teenager, of course I didn’t have a car or a license or a job so I will watch a lot of YouTube videos on how to act and how to properly do a self tape and things like that. I did not take my first acting class until I was 20. It can be hard at times being an actress while working a 9 to 5 + bills and other responsibilities, but you had to decide was more important and make a lot of sacrifices. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy being all set but being an actress or actor is not easy. It’s not a easy job but if you want it and you really love it give it your all.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I wish I had something to recommend, but I am a homebody. I do not go out that often. But I have been to Georgia aquarium and it was very beautiful. I will recommend that.
