Meet Nyah Melvin | Food, Travel & Entertainment Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nyah Melvin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nyah, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m a true Atlanta native. I was born in Atlanta. I been here all my life. I had the true experience from visiting the Fox theater, Fernbank , eating at The Varsity from viewing Christmas lights at Centennial Park. My background, upbringing and just life experiences have played pivotal roles of creating the person I am today. Growing up, I attended a very diverse elementary school, where diversity was always celebrated. In school, some of the parents would bring cultural foods for us to try, which I loved. Outside school influences, my grandfather had always introduced us to other cultures and food. Which looking back now as an adult, it helped shaped my taste pallet even more. Although my roots are here in Atlanta, I still love to explore, travel and of course try out new foods. So far I have been to 5+ countries and counting. Overall, my background and upbringing has shaped me into a well rounded young woman. As I continue to navigate through life, I carry the lessons and values instilled by my parents and my upbringing. I’m looking forward to what the future brings with content creating, and life in general.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets myself apart from other creators is that having a degree in Psychology introduced me to being able to pivot into the psychological aspects of social media. Social media plays this major role in our everyday lives, that we don’t necessarily realize the fact how much impact it has on us. I have my own niche with my own lane of creating content which I alternate with often. I learned that the first thing to capture a person attention is posting something attractive. For example, when I’m traveling, I would post a video of the beach with a gorgeous view/ sunny blue skies versus a video that’s not the best quality. The same practice also applies to food also. What I’m most excited about is, meeting different minded people who share similar passions of food, travel and much more . I love meeting new creators and made some genuine people that I can call a friend. I’m definitely excited of what the future withholds with the future of PeachyBitesAtl. One of my biggest accomplishments so far was partner with some major companies. I would had never expected to have some viral videos or having these different opportunities. I’m just a regular person who likes to post for fun. I want to highlight is, that if you see yourself having a vision, and idea of something, a new career path, or just going back to school, just go for it. As I explore my twenties and navigating postgrad , just take the leap of faith. Make fear your friend. At first, it seems scary to put yourself out there. But once you do it, you will be glad that you experienced it .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I know it’s a cliché, but Ponce City Market is one of my favorite spots in the city to visit. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, from one of my favorites, W.H. Stiles Fish Camp, to El Super Pan and many more gems. Then, just walk around the BeltLine and enjoy the weather. Since the weather is warming up, I would take my best friend to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. Atlanta Botanical Garden, High Museum of Art, World of Coca-Cola, and National Center for Civil and Human Rights are all good choices within the city. If my best friend would want to travel outside the city and just explore nature, I would recommend Cloudland Canyon State Park. It’s one of my favorite hikes to do and it’s absolutely beautiful. If hiking sounds like too much, I would recommend Chateau Elan. It’s a beautiful winery located in Braselton, Georgia, and such a good day trip to experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, I thank God for placing the right people on my path so far, because I have met people along my journey, I wouldn’t ever thought to have met. I never would had expected to be on a platform this early on this path. I would definitely love to acknowledge my grandparents for giving me my first taste of different cultural foods. Secondly, my parents for introducing us to different experiences, food, and honing my sibling and i crafts . I would love to thank Shoutout for giving me opportunity for giving the platform to highlight my story. I’m just a regular person who loves to post places to eat, travel and experiences. A special shoutout to my family who repost my reels, comments and lastly, or just asking for recommendations of places to visit. Thank you to my boyfriend for his support of my vision and being my plus +1 . I would love to shoutout my friend/cousin Tori and the food community. @EatsfromTori invited me to my first influencer event when I had less than 300 followers at the time. She gave me advice and taught me along with other creators of being a content creator. There’s so many flowers, I wish I could give to my support system. Lastly, special shoutout to my small community that I built, I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you all.
