We had the good fortune of connecting with Neiko & Janisse Flowers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Neiko & Janisse, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
The end goal is simple… It’s to inspire and motivate the people. Everything we do is for GOD. We’ll be on several radio and tv stations inspiring the masses. Traveling the world sharing our testimony and spreading the goodness of GOD. By the end of our career, we would like to be in a place where our “work” doesn’t feel like work. Helping people especially young married couples with aspirations and dreams learn how to balance their marriage as well as what GOD has set out for them to do. We’re all about putting more effort into your purpose rather than a paycheck. When you love what you do… The money will come.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We’re just Neiko & Janisse a dynamic couple that has a love for God and a mission to help people find their purpose in life. We’ve been happily married for 11 years and have a set of 7-year-old twins. We both come from humble beginnings and have quite a testimony on everything God has done in their lives. We plan to impact the community in a new way by showing through example that you can live a life for God and still have fun and a youthful spirit. Hints the name… Believers With Balance!

The journey hasn’t been easy… We’ve shopped the show around years ago before shelving it back in 2015 only for God to give us favor in 2018 with our opportunity of a lifetime to go LIVE weekly on our home station in NC. We overcame every pushback and challenge by truly relying on the support of each other and remembering what God had shown us. Some of the lessons we learned were never to rely on others to see the vision GOD gave YOU. Sometimes what looks like a mountain to us is a rock to God. At the end of the day, I want the world to know that Neiko & Janisse are here to show people that not only can you work with your spouse. lol, But you can do some pretty dope and inspiring things by just living your life out loud sharing tests, triumphs, hurt, joy, and success when you allow GOD to use you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’re always down for a good lounge with some good R&B! We love to dance, so anywhere that plays 90’s R&B or today’s alternative R&B is where we’d be. We don’t necessarily have one particular spot though! lol We kinda go with the vibe of the week/weekend to determine what the move would be. Places out of the ordinary like a Paint and Sip (Painting with a Twist), Six Flags, Blu Rose Art Bistro, High Museum of Art just to name a few.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We have to shout out to our listeners and or supporters!! They make doing this so fun. From leaving funny comments about something we might’ve said during one of the shows, to giving us an emotional testimony on how they overcame something that we’ve also been through and how our words helped them realize that coming out of the fire can be done.
