We had the good fortune of connecting with Mz. Tara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mz. Tara, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was that I’m not an individual that wants to work for anyone all of my life and they’re many things that strike my interest for business and the Primary one is building a brand for shorter model opening doors for more opportunities because we dont get all of the same opportunities as a tall person. For example; we get told no for many things simply because we’re not tall enough. So I started Fun Size Models Magazine building a brand for shorter models. It’s been a challenge but that was to be expected nothing comes easy but it’s going to happen along with the right people in my corner that supports my image.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is Short Models turning them into superstars and making them just as popular as Supermodels/High Fashion Models. Of course; it hasn’t been an easy task however nothing comes easy and you going to have those that trying to keep you from succeeding but you keep going regardless. I overcome challenges by keeping in mind that when people start saying negative things trying to sobatoge you it’s only because you doing something good and you’re a threat to them. I’m stepping up for shorter models regardless of the negative backlash I’ve received about short models but that’s okay, everyone is entitled to there own opinions however they’re not going to sink this ship, we’re going to stay above water making it to our destination. Life lessons I’ve learned along the way is to surround yourself with people that share your vision and that’s going to show as much dedication to your vision as if it’s there own. I want the world to know that Fun Size Models brand is coming soon with our heads held high so they can join us or be against us however we’re rising up regardless.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, me and my bestie are country girls and we love some good SoulFood so I’d find the best places to eat around Atlanta with the best SoulFood to take her. Also take her to places with live entertainment because we love seeing talented in person. In addition; we’d tour nice places around Atlanta like CNN, Coke Cola place, Atlantic Station, etc. Maybe even some museums because we love seeing history.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The primary individual I wish to give a shout out to is Xcentrix Media Group Owner Jamie Starr. He’s the one individual been by my side since we met over 4yrs ago and he supports my image more than any individual I’ve came in contact with, to add he supports me more than people I’ve known a decade. It’s not everyday you meet people that share your vision and shows dedication as if it’s his own. Anything I need he’s the first person I’m going to call because I know he got my back and my best interest at heart.
