We had the good fortune of connecting with Myeisha Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myeisha, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, spending my early childhood in the uptown areas with family and later moving to downtown New Orleans and New Orleans East. Growing up in a household of five seemed normal to me. Despite our struggles, my parents always managed to make things look good, participating in birthdays, graduations, and family trips. It wasn’t until we were older that we understood the challenges they faced raising us.

My dad’s hardworking nature inspired me to work diligently for what I want and need to be happy and healthy. My mom’s nurturing and loving spirit taught me the importance of caring for myself and others.

I’ve always aspired to be my own boss, to control my life and pursue what makes me happy. As a creative, I am filled with genuine love and ambition. Knowing the hardships my parents and extended family endured shaped my aspirations. Growing up in a low-income family, living off government assistance in the projects of New Orleans, seemed normal to me. However, being exposed to more possibilities ignited my dreams of achieving and experiencing more.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I see my art as a unique masterpiece, crafted from both a creative and a consumer’s perspective. By considering both ends, I make informed decisions that enhance my work. My inspiration comes from a diverse range of art forms, which sets me apart from most creatives. It’s like combining your favorite spices to cook up something fresh and exciting. My uniqueness, confidence to take on new projects, and ability to develop innovative ideas are what truly set me apart.

I am most proud of my ability to learn and grow, to take risks and explore new ventures. I am excited about having worked with remarkable entrepreneurs, helping them discover their brand identity, expand their reach, attract their target audience, and engage their dream clients.

For example, I’ve collaborated with Corey Sims, CEO of Encore by Corey, a licensed hair stylist and bridal hair extension specialist based in District Heights, MD, who has worked with many high-profile women. Being part of his branding project, alongside award-winning Creative, Public Speaker, and Multimedia Specialist Caressa Jennings, was an exhilarating experience.

I’ve also worked with Britni Ricard, CEO of Cota Skin and Dracir Official. She’s not only a real estate investor and public speaker but also an incredible supporter of my brand, Bold Luxe Design Studio. Working on multiple projects with her has been a pleasure, and I deeply appreciate her leadership and support in the community.

Overcoming challenges throughout my life has relied heavily on my faith in God and myself. Each day, I chose to get up and start anew, despite feeling drained at times. In moments of darkness, I would lift myself up, look in the mirror, and speak kind words to my soul. I would talk to God, seeking guidance, forgiveness, strength, and genuine support. These practices have been instrumental in my journey.

I’ve learned to accept things as they are, to treat others and myself better, to love more, to give more, and to forgive. I want the world to know my heart, to understand what I am deserving of, and to see that whatever blessings I receive, I intend to share with others. Bold Luxe Design Studio is my passion, and it holds immense meaning for me. My goal is to help others elevate their brand, grow, and create lasting experiences and relationships. I strive to build a trusting partnership and friendship that clients won’t regret.

I would love to connect with like-minded individuals and continue to grow together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First things first, we’d kick off the day with a fabulous brunch at a chic, feminine restaurant with clean aesthetics, fantastic morning cocktails, and delicious food to set a positive tone for the day. After brunch, we’d indulge in some retail therapy, hitting up our favorite shops for clothes or little gifts for ourselves.

Next, we’d treat ourselves to a girls’ day out at the nail salon for pedicures and manicures, followed by a relaxing 60-minute massage to unwind. If we feel like soaking up some sun, we’d lounge by the hotel pool and enjoy the vibes.

In the evening, we’d shower and rest up before heading out for fine dining. I love getting all dressed up in cute dresses and heels for a night at a five-star restaurant. If there’s salmon or steak on the menu, count me in! Throughout the week, we’d explore spots with live music, small bites, dancing, and socializing to experience the local nightlife.

Since I’m also an indoor girlie, after three days out, we’d have a cozy day at home in pajamas. We’d binge-watch Netflix with some wine and dinner, and maybe play board games like Monopoly and Scrabble. I’m also a fan of The Sims, so we could dive into that for some fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to God. His presence, wisdom, and unwavering faith in me have been my anchor through life’s toughest moments. His blessings are my constant source of strength, and I know I can always rely on Him to guide me and do right by me.

Secondly, I want to honor my oldest sister, Monique Smith. She’s been my unwavering support and my constant source of strength. Through every challenge and triumph, Monique has stood by my side, helping me grow both personally and professionally. Her belief in me has fueled my determination, and she’s always the first person I turn to when I need guidance or encouragement. Monique’s love, wisdom, and unwavering support have been instrumental in my journey, and I am profoundly grateful for her presence in my life.
