We had the good fortune of connecting with Mr. Stinky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mr. Stinky, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had a ruff upbringing as a child. I only completed 10th grade in high school. The only thing I knew how to do in life was music.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Mr. Stinky has been trying to reach stardom since the age of 9, I have been lied to, let down, to the point of giving up. But for me, it’s more of a passion, a dream, a hope, an experience.
See, I don’t just make music…. I am the instrument
The only thing I’ve really gained in my career is small fame, a whole bunch of gifts, respect and knowledge, but not enough money for me to take care of my family.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Once I flew out to the island of Kona, All my expenses and food was paid for. The talent agency let me bring 5 of my friends along. We went to volcano park, I ended up on a tv show expressing my views on drugs and violence while telling kids not to take that path.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to bad boy records and def jam records for letting me be a part of their promotion tour. Even though I didn’t get paid, the experience was motivating. Also, the late great Nipsey Hustle for doing a song with me back in 2011.
