Meet Motherhood Healing Collective | Georgia’s Newest Doula Collective

We had the good fortune of connecting with Motherhood Healing Collective and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Motherhood Healing Collective, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was deeply personal and purposeful. I wanted to create the kind of support and healing experience I knew I would need when it was time for me to become pregnant. At the same time, I was closely studying the experiences I witnessed in the South—particularly how Black women were navigating pregnancy, birth, and the hospital system. I saw a real need for culturally grounded, holistic care that prioritized healing, education, and advocacy. My business was born out of a desire to fill that gap and offer Black and Indigenous mothers the kind of compassionate, empowering support they deserve.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re a budding team of six doulas with diverse skill sets including indigenous healing, herbalism, postpartum care, and birthwork. Our collective is rooted in the belief that mothers deserve culturally affirming and compassionate care, and we work together to ensure families feel supported, heard, and empowered during their journeys.
What sets us apart is our intentional focus on honoring tradition and addressing the unique challenges that Black and Indigenous families face within the healthcare system. I’m proud to lead a team that prioritizes healing on every level-physical, emotional, and spiritual and ensures that no family feels like they are navigating this process alone.
The path to building this has not been easy. It required overcoming self-doubt, financial challenges, and learning how to advocate for a model of care that is still rare in many spaces. I’ve learned that resilience, a commitment to purpose, and the support of a strong team can transform challenges into opportunities.
What I want the world to know about the Motherhood Healing Collective is that we are here to serve, to hold space, and to remind families of their strength and agency. We are creating something deeply meaningful not just for today but for future generations.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d take them to some of my favorite spots in Atlanta where the energy is just right, and the vibes are unmatched.
We’d start at The Atlanta BeltLine which it’s like the city’s heartbeat. We’d walk, grab some street tacos from a vendor, and take our time admiring the murals that tell so many stories about Atlanta. You can feel the creativity in the air, and there’s always a street performer making the stroll feel alive.
A visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden is a must, especially in the evening when the lights make everything feel magical. There’s something grounding about walking through a garden full of the most stunning plants and blooms you’ve ever seen it’s like a soft reset for your spirit.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my big sister turned spiritual Godmother, Kim “Sahasrara” Gregory, who graciously answered the call to take me in as her little sister and mentee. We connected deeply over African spirituality, metaphysical studies, birth work, and so much more. Kim embodies this quirky, spicy, big Piscean energy that I absolutely admired then and continue to admire to this day. She has always encouraged me to pursue every wild dream and initiative, standing by my side as I navigated moments of loss, grief, and significant life transitions. She’s been on the journey with me traveling the world and being a part of my wedding celebration and I’m just honored to call her friend and big sis! Kim’s spirit is beautiful, gentle, and loving, and her character is truly unmatched. She is a Healer and an avid reader with an extraordinary range of divine talents, wisdom, and abilities. I thank God every day that she was placed on my path, and I know that together we will continue to create magical, healthy, and joy-filled experiences that uplift and inspire.
