Meet Miguel Santos | Lead Singer and Guitarist for the band Miguel y Los Santos Malditos

We had the good fortune of connecting with Miguel Santos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miguel, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Many people ask me the same question about my music career, but most don’t expect the answer to be as deep as it is. I could give the answer most people expect ” I want to be able to enjoy playing music and get paid while doing it”, but in reality is so much more than that.
Let me start by saying that I believe musicians are born with the deep special love for music and the necessary tools to develop the talent we were gifted, but there is also many challenges we have to overcome. That been said…it is very important for me to stay focused on the journey of learning the different aspect and key factors that will help me master my talent, balance my time with family, friends and fans. Understanding what being a musician is, and how I can impact so many life both in a positive and negative way is extremely important to me because by doing so, I believe Im a step closer to the ultimate goal.
So what is the ultimate goal to me? My end goal is to Live!!
Every moment of the process of music creation with my bandmates, the opportunity I’m given to share a piece of who I am through my music, the energy the crowd emanates each time I’m on stage, the feeling and adrenaline I get while writing a song making sure I’m giving the best of me, and sharing the love of music with my kids is what gives me live.
Professionally at the end of my career (life) I hope I leave a legacy by changing lives and touching hearts with my music.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a singer songwriter and guitarist from the island of Puerto Rico. My love for music started when I was 6 years old when I started taking piano lessons, from that moment music is been a mayor part of my life and who I am. What sets me apart is how passionate and dedicated I am with everything I do focusing on giving the best of me on everything I do. I love helping others and leading people to do better in live.
I’m very proud of my music project and exited about the music I’m making with my band mates. Today I can say that I am where I’m at because of the people I have surrounded myself with. It hasn’t been easy, but thanks to them, my dedication, passion and positive attitude, I’ve been able to overcome many challenges.
I have learn to always keep a positive attitude, to only worry about what you can change and have control off. Also, that communication is the key to succeed in life. Family and music is everything to me.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I will definitely take them to the Georgia aquarium and all around downtown. Krogg street, Ponce City market to have drinks and food. For late night I will take them to dance to a nightclub in Buckhead ( Tongue and Groove, Havana, Loca Luna, etc.).
Some of my favorite restaurants are Agave, Jimmys Kitchen (for some Puertorican food). Kyma in Buckhead for some of the best lamb chops in town. Eat sushi at Zuma by Imman Park. There is so many awesome places in Atlanta that is very hard to mention them all.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I like to recognize my family, and thank them for supporting me and allowing me live my dream and understanding how important music is to me. My bandmates for all the hard work, sacrifices they make to ensure we continue this journey and for trusting me. Last but not least, BIG Thank you to our fans and followers for giving us the chance to enter their lives, and giving me the opportunity to do what I love.
