Meet Michael Schwartz | Entrepreneur, Writer, & Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Schwartz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, how do you think about risk?
I think of risk as being presented with a door of opportunity. The choice is yours to either open the door or not. What lies ahead can only be seen by choosing to open the door and then saying ‘yes’ to walking through it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I wouldn’t define it as my ‘work’, but rather, my life’s motto that spills over into my work. As a two time liver transplant recipient, there are many challenges and struggles that come with it. However, knowing that God has a plan, and walking confidently in His plans and purposes for my life are the reasons I am able to ‘overcome’ anything that may come my way. The brand is called ‘Elevated Lifestyle’ and we strive to ‘Live live. Elevated.’ Nothing worth having is ever easy, but with God, all things are possible. With Him, we can rise above the challenges and difficulties of life and live from an elevated perspective – His perspective. His thoughts and ways are higher than our own, and He enables us to live and see things from His vantage point. I’d say the main lesson I have learned thus far in the process is that God’s way is always better. Even if it may not seem like it in a certain point of time, when I look back on things, His way was and always is better and for my good.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d say it would depend on the time of the year. Let’s say it were during the summer. I’d take them for a day on Lake Allatoona – a day of tubing, wakesurfing/wakeboarding, etc. We’d also hit the pool for a day and just relax while listening to some good music. As an avid Braves fan, I’d show them the Battery while catching a game. To wrap up the week, I’d take them to play a round of golf and then show them around downtown Atlanta – the College Football Hall of Fame, the World of Coke and the Georgia Acquarium. I have a few other things in mind, but I can’t show all my cards at once.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As a man of faith, I wouldn’t be where I am without the Lord. Jesus is the reason I am who I am and He has brought me to this point in my life. I’d also like to shoutout my family – parents and sibilings. I have been blessed with an amazing family and I am very thankful for their love and support. My doctors and organ donors – as a two time liver transplant recipient, I am extremely grateful for the way my doctors have dedicated their lives to helping their patients. To the organ donors – without your willingness to donate, receiving another chance at life wouldn’t be possible.
