We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt Metzger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matt, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
For starters, “Always do EVERYTHING” has become a habit of mine for a long while now. I never say no to work, classes or activities. From writing and improv theater to pro wrestling and stunt work. It’s very much a ‘yes and-‘ lifestyle and it’s gotten me pretty far and introduced me to a LOT of wonderful people in the entertainment business.

Aside from that, I wake up before 8a.m. (7a.m. if I’m not up late) and ‘work before work’ every day. I take as much time as I can in a given day to try and progress myself in the business. Even if it’s just a simple social media post of a job I did- anything to remind the universe what I do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We chatted about The Campaign (Show) a while back in our first interview. That series has only grown, even with all that happened last year. Most recently, The Campaign was signed with The Fantasy Network! Once we finish our 5th Episode, it will begin streaming.

The creation of The Campaign has truly outlined my overall journey as a worker in the industry. Before, I was really just an actor with stunt and improv experience. Because of this project, I’ve grown into writing, producing and stunt choreography. My passion went from one side of a D20 to the entire die!

Two great lessons I have learned: If you stay positive, keep trying and say yes to everything that makes sense. Eventually good will come.
Most importantly, take care of yourself and make time to be a person first.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love a good brewery! My FAVORITE will always be Iron Monger Brewery. This place just rules AND it has axe throwing! Want to have a pint and chuck a hatchet? Iron Monger. Aside from there, From the Earth in Roswell is awesome. New Realm, closer to the beltline, is great with a wonderful rooftop section that overlooks the city.

Breweries aside, I’ve always been big into tabletop gaming, arcades and comics. Here’s a couple fine nerderies I recommend: Titans Comics, Joystick Gaming, Wasteland Gaming and Battle & Brew (we actually did The Campaigns premier here!).

Lastly, depending on if you’re around in November: CONjuration is one of the most magical and epic fantasy conventions you’ll ever find. It’s family run and great for kids and adults. They do such a great job and creating a totally memorable week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to Action Show Studios for picking up the project I created (The Campaign Show), as well as the writers who were there since the beginning: John Babcock, the 3rd, Bill Szabrak and Cathy Poley.

Shoutout to AR Fox from WWA4ATL for getting me into Pro Wrestling and being such a great mentor.

And of course, a shout out to my wonderful wife, Sara, for always supporting me and accepting my choices, even when they’re silly or dangerous…or both.
