Meet Masha Slamovich | Professional wrestler

We had the good fortune of connecting with Masha Slamovich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Masha, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
This was the only vision I had for my life from the very beginning. It is a scary thought to me to not know what you want out of life, and I am lucky that this question was answered for me early on. I have a burning passion and love for professional wrestling, it is my life, my art, my self expression and my love. I truly believe I was put on this earth to wrestle.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have had a very unique journey in this business that is unlike any other, and I am very proud that everything I have done. I have done my way, even if it is unconventional. I was never afraid to take a risk, a drive, or a flight, and to have to be in the trenches grinding to get better, learn, grow, and have unique experiences that shaped my life and career as well as me as an individual. It took a lot of sacrifice, and it was not easy, but even the difficult and daunting moments for enjoyable for me because I was happy to have the opportunity to experience them. I was simply happy to be wrestling at all, because when I first started, I had no expectations, I just wanted to pursue something I loved, and see whether the journey takes me. I always believed “ if there’s a will, there’s a way” and if you wanna achieve something, there’s nothing that will stop you from doing it if you put your mind to it. It’s important to be resilient, and adapt to any circumstance thrown your way, and simply move with the belief that everything happens for a reason. That belief is what kept me going in the moment of difficulty, despair, and challenge. I always believed that I was on a path and that it would take me somewhere far greater than I could imagine, so I just had to keep moving forward. I think that is a mindset that more people should entertain!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Assuming we are talking about Atlanta, Bomb Biscuit Atlanta has delicious biscuits! I would certainly consider myself a foodie, and this is one of my favorite places in the city. Also, I highly recommend café Mozart bakery. It has amazing Matcha and all kinds of food and pastries that are some of the best in the city in my opinion! Of course I would also suggest stopping by Center Stage to watch professional wrestling events that take place there like TNA and GCW.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My sister and my mother have always been huge supporters of my career. They were always there to cheer me on and pick up the pieces if there was anything left undone in my ‘real life’ and made sure I could focus on wrestling 100%. From the very beginning when I wrestled in gyms in front of 20 people to sold out arenas of 1000s of people they believed in me and pushed me to do whatever I needed to to keep climbing higher and to see me happy doing what I love.
