We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Lowery and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Personally, I will always be an Artist .I don’t believe in giving up. Even if it becomes difficult.
If you’re doing something, that’s your passion!. Never give up on your God given talent.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Afrocentric and Contemporary art styled paintings. My love for the arts started when I was young. I stayed sick a lot so I was in the house a lot.
My mom bought me a coloring book. I would draw the pictures from the book and color those instead. I didn’t really have challenges with my art . My life itself was challenging. Art gave me peace.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A friend visiting, hmmm this would be fun! I don’t go out that often but to sum it all up, we’d go to church, do some painting, find a gospel concert and hit the mall. Definitely would go for a spa day and ride the tea around town bus in Philly. I would also find a good play and brunch spot to visit.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I give honor to God! I wouldn’t be here without him. Second would be my mother, without the strength, morals and values she instilled in me I would have never been able to be who I am today . My children are my encouragement. We work together as a team. My publicist Leesa Media has given me so much knowledge in how to run a business.
