Meet Marvis Tyrone Scott AKA “Scotty Scott” | ATLWOOD® Global Trademark Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marvis Tyrone Scott AKA “Scotty Scott” and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marvis Tyrone Scott, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I’m from Monroeville Alabama, a predominantly die hard sports town & while in junior high school and high school, in the early and late 80’s, I chose to march in the band instead of going the sports athlete route. Taking that risk turned into a full music scholarship at Alabama A&M University in the Fall of 1989.
In 2010 I chose to walk away from a marketing and promotions career as an executive in the music industry & film industry to take a risk and I became an entrepreneur. In 2011 I took a risk that same year in which I created, founded and executed the vision to acquire the name and likeness of the now Global ATLWOOD® Trademark Brand.
From 2014 until around 2018 I took risks, invested in my vision to build my very own jewelry company. (FYI, I never had any financial backing or investors). I traveled back and forth to some of the biggest jewelry manufacturers in Dubai to design and create the ATLWOOD® Luxury Black Ice Jewelry Brand. Currently my jewelry is featured on Tubi Network, STARZ Network and BET Networks.
So I would say that risk taking has played a huge role in my personal life and my career as an entrepreneur.

What should our readers know about your business?
I acquired the ATLWOOD® Trademark in 2011 with a vision that one day Hollywood and the entire world would come to Atlanta Georgia and make all of their dreams come true in music, sports, Fortune 500 companies and of course the Film Industry. I coined and trademarked the word ATLWOOD® to identify the dreamers who desired the covenant status of “Superstar”.
I am most proud and excited about the flowers that I am finally receiving from so many powerful executives and influencers from different genres who understand and appreciate my vision for my ATLWOOD® Global Trademark. I achieved majority of my success from being told no hundreds of times and turning No into Yes over and over again by realizing that if I grind now in the early stages I can definitely shine later. The challenges of hearing No so much lit a certain fire under me causing me to research, study and learn every aspect of what makes a successful business model. I pushed my pride aside throughout my journey and worked regular 9-5 jobs in order to invest and fund my business. That’s what sets me apart from others, knowing that it’s money coming from your personal bank account instead of a bank, hedge fund, or angel investor. It wasn’t easy, one of my mottos is “Success Overtime Not Overnight”, this describes me & my business tenacity perfectly. Those are key moments over the years that got me to where I am today in business. I overcame every challenge of business by leaning on God instead of man or woman. My blessings flow much easier with no strings attached when they come from God. The biggest lesson I’ve learned from this business journey is to separate personal feelings from business decision making.
I want the world to know that Marvis Tyrone Scott AKA “Scotty Scott” , didn’t just Dream, he woke up and Executed!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friends and love ones to eat at Davido’s in Phipps Plaza, Fried Tomatoes Buffet and I will share a first time experience at T.I. & Killer Mike’s Bankhead Seafood Restaurant, I hear it’s great.
Definitely have to take them to Liitle 5 Points, Atlanta Beltline and Auburn Avenue for the melting pot of culture. Speaking of Culture, we have to have dinner at Paschal’ Restaurant in the heart of downtown.
Last but not least, I have to be a tour guide for Town at Trilith in Fayetteville Georgia (Formerly Marvel Studios & Pinewood Forest) and Tyler Perry Studios ( In Eastpoint Georgia) giant flatscreen area showcasing all of his shows.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m going to give a shout out to my mother and father who both passed years ago but are constantly with me in spirit. I dedicate this magazine article to Sarah Pearl Scott & Robert Horace Scott my parents (Rest In Paradise)🙏🏿
