We had the good fortune of connecting with Marv Neal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marv, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Women …. Black Women! They have hired me helped me promoted me and most important prayed for me and my brand long my journey.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, my art is making something out of nothing with clothing, coming from Detroit it’s rich in fashion history majority of your family derives from the south and we know how people took pride in being dressed. I always had a thing for fashion and music so what sets me apart is that I pay attention to detail as a creative I leave no stone un-turned Ill make sure the air and makeup or male grooming are correct just to make sure the look is complete. I’m most proud of making a career Celebrity wise and publishing wise right from Detroit. I hold my position professionally cause I am professional and I’m honest and It always about putting my all into each project no matter the budget or the company. No, it’s never an easy job because fashion is forever changing and it will always be a challenge. it is a constant restart each shoot and everything leading up to it lol. The lessons I’ve learned along the way are just stick to it and whatever you have to do in good faith to make your art come to life do so. The world will know me as a driving force in the industry hailing from Detroit in the editorial arena and also the celebrity realm with men and women. Jeanous denim will be worn by everyone ! ( Mark My Words).
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Designer Char Glover of Rock N Remix taught me the first things I learned about pulling garments from a designer and she would just kick the life thru her designer eyes and what she knew from that angle and mold me without knowing. Mia Ray when she started her Glamaholic brand she would have me come to set and book me to shoot. They are Both friends that I knew before I started this wardrobe styling journey. Misa Hylton was the first person I recognized and said I want to do what shes doing Along with Sybil Phennix Groovey Lew alot of those that were the first stylist that were in Hip Hip & R&B in the 90s . Those people are my fairy god parents and I will always salute the stylist that come before me .
