We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Frazier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I would say if you are someone out there that start trying to start a business make sure it’s something that you believe in something that you can run with your own knowledge and try your best not to depend on others until you’re at that point to where you’re ready to expand into other fields of your business

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Meet Marcus, a devoted family man who started his own family and is now a proud father of six. For their birthdays, the children often requested a hibachi dinner at Benihana, making it a cherished family tradition. Inspired by their love for this dining experience, Marcus decided to take it a step further. He bought a hibachi grill, donned the tall hat, and taught himself the art of Japanese grilling.

Six years ago, fueled by his passion, Marcus launched Hibachi Pirates, specializing in at-home hibachi experiences for private events. His unique approach brings the excitement of hibachi dining right to the comfort of his clients’ homes.

Recently, Marcus and his family made the move to Atlanta, where he has quickly become a regular chef at Chow à la Carte, while also continuing to offer private events. He’s thrilled to return to his Cajun roots for an upcoming Chow dinner, blending his love for hibachi with the rich flavors of his heritage.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is indeed an interesting place, filled with vibrant culture and opportunities. While I haven’t had the chance to explore and hang out as much as I’d like, my focus is fully on building Hibachi Pirates and creating a lasting legacy for my family. Each day, I pour my passion into my work, ensuring that both my business and my family thrive. It’s all about laying down strong foundations for the future!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
🌟 **Shout Out to My Family** 🌟

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to my family for standing behind my dream of becoming a Hibachi Chef. Your unwavering support has been the fuel that ignites my passion every day. A special shout-out to my Aunt and Uncle, who stepped in as my Mom and Dad—your love and guidance mean the world to me.

Though my pops has passed, his influence still guides me, shaping me into the business-savvy individual I am today. I am forever grateful for the lessons he taught me and the memories we shared.

Also, a heartfelt shout-out to my co-founder, Warren Jones. Although he is no longer with us, I know both he and my pops are proud of the growth and success of Hibachi Pirates. Together, we’ve built something special, and I carry their legacy with me every step of the way.

Thank you all for believing in me and for being my rock. Here’s to continuing this journey and making you all proud! 🙏❤️
