We had the good fortune of connecting with Lanota Fludd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lanota, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
How I view work life balance has changed over time. What has been a central for me and what I encourage others to have is to have work life limits and boundaries. Incorporating these two create balance which sometimes looks like I leave work at 5 pm and do not do anything until the next day; yet it can also look like this is the cutoff for work or even an activity for the day, the earliest I will go, or if it goes over this is how much I am comfortable with.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Luxury Life Counseling is a unique boutique mental wellness facility. We are different than others as we customize everything to meet client needs. I arrived where I am today by making the decision to be a therapist and then choosing to sacrifice the time, energy, and effort to live out my dream. It was not easy but so worth it. I overcame 10-12 hour days working a full time job while interning to make my dream a reality. The lesson I would give to others is perseverance pays off. What I want the world to know is that you can achieve what you believe with efforts and that when you do it is all worth it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend in town I would first start off by taking the to the Georgia Mountains. I would want them to see Georgia outside of the city in Atlanta. While there we would do lunch in Dahlonega at the Bourbon Street Grille.

The next day I would take them to Savannah so that they would have an opportunity to enjoy the beaches and all they have to offer with a good lunch at Cleary’s.

The next three days I would take them downtown to visit Dr. King’s church, home, and Auburn Avenue dining at Marcus Bar and Grille, I would also take them to the Perimeter area so that they could explore Politian Row and the local stores in that area and lastly I would take them to the Roswell Mill and have lunch downtown. We would end the evening exploring the World of Coca Cola and Aquarium. I would also go support local vendors like Black Wall Street in Conyers and the local Farmers Market in Sandy Springs.

Georgia is such an interesting place and so for me it is fun to expose to friends all it has to over in addition to the of the World of Coca Cola and the Aquarium.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout out to my family and circle of friends. The people that have been in my life for decades and provide laughs, insight, and when needed challenge my thoughts.
