We had the good fortune of connecting with LaJean Pratt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaJean, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business impacts the community and world by providing a therapeutic and holistic aspect to holistic wellness. It assists with daily challenges like stress, anxiety, relaxation, and sleeping.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
LaJean is a power parent and manager for her son’s jewelry business. She is a light with the gift of bringing out the passion in anyone that she encounters. She is a proud D.C Native and has spent 10+ years in mental health, special needs, and education with urban students in the District of Columbia. While embarking on these opportunities during her career, she has remained a passionate mentor for underserved families and pregnant women in the DMV. She holds a degree in psychology and is currently collecting her credentials to become a school counselor with urban students. LaJean is extremely passionate about the health and wellness of her students and individuals, so she expresses it through her craft and education of self-care, self-love, and holistic wellness practices.

She believes that to attain wholeness, one must focus intently on the mind, body, and spirit.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely visit U street and H street. They are practically the soul of the city. It’s so much history! Yards park and The Wharf is another revamped area. It’s super relaxing and has a lot of food places. We would visit the spice suite!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God is my first shoutout. He has allowed me to have different experiences that led me to use these same coping tools in my journey. He has allowed me to learn from numerous professors, therapists, and other therapeutic experts to help others.
