Meet Kristina Wilcox | Family and Newborn Lifestyle Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Wilcox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristina, what principle do you value most?
The principle of always trying your best and putting your best foot forward is something I hold close to my heart. As a mom of three girls, I want to lead by example and show them the value of dedication, perseverance, and integrity. My husband works incredibly hard and has supported us while I was a stay at home mom. He continues to support me as I follow my dreams of a being a successful family and newborn photographer. I pour so much love into my business and I want my girls, family and clients see that I care for what I do. I believe that giving your all—whether at home or in your work—sets the tone for a life of purpose and pride. Giving your all is not always easy, and there are definitely moments when things don’t go as planned or success feels out of reach—but I’ve learned that consistency, heart, and showing up every day are what truly make the difference.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a family and lifestyle newborn photographer based in Cumming, GA. I’ve been telling stories through my lens for about nine years with only the last few as an official LLC business. My work focuses on capturing real, emotional, and timeless moments. As a mom of three girls, I deeply understand how quickly these seasons pass, and I photograph with that awareness and heart in every session.
What sets me apart is the level of emotional connection I bring to each session. I’m not just showing up with a camera, I’m showing up with intention. I take time to get to know the families I work with, understand their dynamic, and create space for natural moments to unfold.
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey wasn’t easy or linear. I started this business with a passion for photography and a desire to help where I could financially, while raising my daughters. I continue to wear every hat—the photographer, the marketer, the editor, and the accountant. There have been seasons of doubt, especially when I have to balance growing a business with motherhood. But I keep showing up, learning, and investing in myself and my craft.
I want the world to know that when they book a session with me they aren’t just investing in photos; they’re investing in an experience and a feeling. I want my clients to walk away from their session not only with stunning, high quality images, but also with the deep assurance that their story matters. I’ve built my business on trust, emotion, and client experience. I’ve also learned the power of saying no. Not every client is the right fit, and that’s okay.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh boy this is a tough one! I’m actually not much a city girI. I love a night out to a nice restaurant or to see a show at the Fox Theater with just my husband, but if I had to pick I’m all about escaping the hustle and bustle of my everyday life and relax. I love camping, or glamping I should say! My bones aren’t made for sleeping on the ground anymore and I at least need an air mattress.
Our family has gone glamping at Lake Timberline a few times and we love it. With a queen or king bed and a set of bunk beds for the kids, what more could you ask for while relaxing in nature! There is heat for the cold nights and AC for those extra warm southern nights. I pack my favorite book, relax in one of the hammocks and my girls love playing around near the edge of the water or renting some kayaks and getting in some lake time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout has to go to my daughters, Ella, Mya and Piper! When they walk by my computer and I’m editing they will comment on how beautiful the photos are and tell me what a great photographer I am. Whenever I leave for a shoot I’m surrounded by the sound of “good luck” and reminders that I’ll do fantastic! I have not always been confident in myself as a photographer and putting myself out there. I have mentored with a few wonderful ladies (Tanya and Adrienne) and their continued praise for my work and telling me to just go for it has gotten me through some tough times of doubt. I have a saying by my computer that I read to myself several times a day. “Success is the sum of small efforts-repeated day in and day out.”-Robert Collier
