We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenneth Hoursey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from New York, I lived there until I was about 22 years old. My background has definitely molded me for the better from some of the most absurd circumstances and events. It helped me realize that we all have a choice with our life we can either make a difference or fall by the wayside. I’ve seen and done things I’m definitely not proud of but I saw a quote that said if I changed my storyline I’d be erasing myself. From losing people and friends to playing with my own life I’m glad it molded me to be mature and to want more for myself. I left New York and changed the trajectory of my whole life shoutout to my grandfather who I promised to get on track.
I honestly don’t have a certified business, but as time passes I’m presented with many different opportunities because of things I’m good at. I’ve coached shot step shows and competitions, I’ve been a creative director and asked to create choreography for people, and I’ve been asked to host many events. I think what makes me unique is how I carry myself and my mind and character. People have always told me they always feel safe when I’m around and they can’t help but trust me.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For sure if my friends came to town we’re definitely going to Ts Breakfast Bar for that strawberry waffle, then Johnnys Chicken and Waffles for that Mac and cheese cookout for a Cheerwine man I just love food. Little big guy activities for sure but activity wise your 3rd spot and the battery are cools spots to chill. I’m an active kind of person though so go karting, indoor skydiving, Atlanta run club, and so on. I don’t like being stationary too much. I like to be active and stay in shape.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to those who have always stood by me through my struggles and through my wins and those who have molded me mentally, and intellectually as a person. I appreciate all of you even those who I’ve mentored or poured into you guys keep me going every single day despite my struggles. And lastly to my grandfather Kenneth Danzy I pray I’m doing things right, even though I didn’t deserve your kindness.
