We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenesha Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenesha, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in Augusta, GA and I lived in the area majority of my adolescent life until we moved to the outskirts of Atlanta. I was raised by my mother, a very strong woman. She was of strong Christian faith and as a result instilled that same strength and faith into my siblings and I. Growing up she taught to have integrity, be honest and be kind with the people around me. Watching her as a single parent working countless hours a week while going to school for her degrees and still raising us, it also taught me I can achieve anything with hard work. In all of that, she showed me how to be resilient. I thank her so much for that.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of KMB Beauty. I initially started my journey in 2018 and picked back up this year. Having a business and maintaining is not easy at all. It may be one of the hardest things I have taken on. I was able to overcome many challenges by taking a break, clearing distractions and going back to the drawing board. I’ve learned that you have to stay consistent and disciplined. I’ve learned that ongoing marketing and sight of your brand (always wear your brand) is key as well. I’ve learned that you have to quickly rectify and learn from errors in a timely and prof manner because consumers will quickly switch up. I want the world to know with new territory majority of the time it comes with fear and uncertainty. Which is okay. I had a lot of both before starting KMB Beauty. KMB Beauty is a brand that offers beauty products (eyelashes, bundles, etc) to all beauty lovers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Well Atlanta is the perfect place to visit for activities and to eat. Since I’m such a foodie I would love to show them to Marietta Fish Market, which is my favorite restaurant. I would also show them to BQE Restaurant and Lounge, Kellz Kitchen, Tredricks Seafood, Wats Crackin, Jens Fish Fry, Sweet Auburn Seafood and so many others. Activity wise we would have to go to The Battery for sure. I would also opt in for Skyview Atlanta, iPIC Movie Theatre and the Trap Museum just to name a few.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I would like to shoutout both my mom and my Aunt. I’m shouting out my mom for pushing me outside of the box and making me uncomfortable. The discomfort allowed me to face all of my fears and forced me into paths I’ve put off for so long. It has allowed me to grow tremendously. My Aunt deserve this shout out for embracing the woman I have become. For acknowledging, accepting, supporting me and being whoever I need her to be when I need it. Thank you Auntie for being so unconditionally.
