We had the good fortune of connecting with Kareem “reemo Meerak” Tyson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kareem “Reemo Meerak”, why did you pursue a creative career?
This is a very interesting, and pivotal question of a creative like myself. I’m not going to lie before this I really wanted to play basketball ball overseas. Unfortunately, injuries and my passion for it decreased. Then, one day hooping at The CAGE, one of my mentors to this day asked me, “Do I Really want to Play ball overseas for the rest of my life?”, and he presented to me to enter the entertainment industry. Prior to the talk, a lot of my friends during my high school, and early college years would suggest the same because of my witty, high energy, and charismatic personality. After our talk, like the next week I went to Central Casting to start off in the entertainment industry as a Background Actor, and then 18 years later have been involved as an Actor, Podcaster, Media Personality, Blogger, Award Winning TV Producer, Creative Director, and A&R.

My why is because the thrill of creating something that I love and highly passionate about, as well as the thrill of adapting to the business environment as things, and the art changes. YES, my journey in entertainment has been a challenging one, but I definitely learned a lot along the way. For sure would like to be a megastar to match my contributions and personality, but one has to understand coming into this; THE GAME IS NOT FOR THE WEARY. YES, there have been MULTIPLE nights and days where I want to give up, and just say the hell with this, but my love and sacrifice to be here would not allow me to.

I’ve been too involved at this point, just to give up NOW!!!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Honestly, over the years what been said about me or things that people point out are my charisma, energy, attention to detail when covering stories or events, consistency, and my overall work ethic. Also, despite my numbers I still maintain good and quality relationships with people amongst the industry, and have a high value reputation that people can trust my brand, and platforms to conduct business, as well create immensely. I’m proud of the journey I’ve embarked upon the last 18 years within Entertainment & Hip Hop because it what I love to do, as well as just overall being in Media has really given me opportunities that led to some national exposure, and some solid clientele along the way. Today’s technology makes it “seem” it should be easy, but quite frankly you must have the “Balls” and straight up desire to NEED to be here. Yeah, “WANT” is cool and all but to keep you focused you must have the NEED & LOVE to do is….in my opinion. There have been many nights, and days that were challenging to a point of quitting, as well as when I became a professional officially (meaning giving out invoices for services of my brand, having an LLC for the company…and etc) and still having to climb even more hurdles dealing with different clients and even with acting on different type of sets. End all be all you have to build yourself to be successful in this GAME. The lessons I’ve learned are the industry is very small, be careful of your movements, stay true to yourself, make sure you have proper paperwork for any business moves you make, Love what you do always, and maintain your health while doing this. I honestly want the world to understand that Kareem Ruthven Warner Tyson aka “Reemo Meerak” always gave it his all with the brand, I respect the game and the business co-heartedly, as well as make it my all to love what I do not only for myself, but for those whom embrace my creativity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we’re going to Little Italy 🇮🇹 just to vibe out and eat some amazing food. Then, we’re going to the Highline and walking the whole entire 30+ block strip to look at the scenery. Afterwards, possibly catch a Knicks game during the week. Head to Queens, and The Bronx.

For sure, going to THE EDGE, as well as to 5th Avenue. Well take a trip to DTBK (Downtown Brooklyn), Williamsburg, Bedford Avenue, Bushwick. Finally, we’ll make a stop in my Hometown of Harlem where you get to experience the nightlife, shopping, food, and soul of the People.

This will be a long list, but for the sake of the article, and the attention span of readers make it short. Definitely the people that supported the Reemo Meerak Brand over the years; #MyCreatives they’ve kept me a float with their support, definitely my team with Executive Assistant; Elizabeth, and at the time Maria aka “My-My” (Former Publicist), “Vegg” when he produced a good portion of the latest episodes of my podcast, DJ Chase of Worldwide Soundz Records for getting me involved with music industry as an executive, Hip Hop Gamer of Hot97FM / Logitech G during my years producing and connecting me to the quality people while working on his platform, Central Casting for having me be apart of the entertainment industry for all of these years, my mentors, and overall people that were apart of my journey with my brand, and whom I covered in my media career.
