We had the good fortune of connecting with Kamryn Makenzie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kamryn, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a business owner is to never be afraid to fail. I’m not always goings to get everything right and every failure gives me another opportunity to try again. It’s not about how many times we fall, but how many times we choose to get back up.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner and founder of Qualified Daughters, is a Christian publishing company specializing in prayer journals for both men and women. It originally started as a women’s clothing brand in January 2020. However, my creative side always wanted to make prayer journals. I didn’t have any plans to sell them, but God had a different vision. My company’s mission is to encourage men & women to meditate on biblical scripture while strengthening their prayer life. Prayer is important in the life of any Christian believer and keeping a record of prayers in journals is a great way to discern God’s voice while developing an intimate relationship with Him. God is the CEO of my business and I don’t do anything without His permission & guidance.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would most definitely take them to the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the High Museum of Art. I’m a very chill person, so I like to visit peaceful and relaxing places. I would also probably take my best friend on a helicopter tour of the city. As far as restaurants, there are so many great ones to choose from. I would definitely recommend the Hive at Buckhead, Louisiana Bistreaux, and Breakfast at Barneys. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my Savior Jesus Christ, my incredible family, and those who genuinely support the calling on my life.
