We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Caballero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The values that matter most to me in my business are integrity and building a reputation that attracts the kind of people I truly want to work with. I chose a career in real estate because I saw an opportunity to provide a higher level of service and serve as a trusted advisor—breaking away from the stigma that real estate is only about transactions or making a quick sale. That’s not how I operate. My ultimate goal is to build lasting relationships with my clients—growing with them through every chapter of their lives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My brand, Jess in the City: Your Lifestyle Realtor, is all about delivering a personalized real estate experience. I’m licensed in both Georgia and Florida and often help clients make connections worldwide. You can think of me as a real estate consultant—I’m skilled at reading different personality types and pairing clients with the right agents in various markets. That’s a key part of my business, but what truly sets me apart in the Atlanta real estate scene runs deeper.

Before diving into real estate, I spent two years analyzing the industry while still working in my corporate job. I wanted to understand where there were gaps and opportunities to improve the experience. My goal was to create a concierge-level service for busy professionals juggling demanding careers and family life—making the complex process of buying or selling a home as seamless as possible.

Real estate certainly comes with its challenges, but I do everything I can to mitigate those for my clients. Over the past eight years in this industry, I’ve learned how to anticipate potential obstacles and provide multiple solutions before they become problems. In my experience, well-informed clients handle tough situations more easily, so I make sure they’re fully prepared.

There’s a lot of psychology involved in real estate, and I’ve developed a strong ability to understand what my clients truly need. If you’re wondering how I’ve built my career to this point, I’d say it comes down to three things: surrounding myself with people who are doing more and doing it better, learning from those willing to share their insights and best practices, and staying consistent. Consistency is everything—without it, there is no business.

I’ve developed systems and processes that allow me to navigate real estate more efficiently, but let me be clear: excellence isn’t easy. It takes hard work, but it’s worth it—especially when my clients benefit from that level of dedication. Of course, the industry still comes with tough moments, like when a longtime client chooses to work with someone else. Those moments are hard, which is why I focus on attracting clients who align with my values and approach, ensuring we truly connect and understand each other.

So, what do I want the world to know about Jess in the City? It’s a brand built by a woman who knows everything about city living in Atlanta—from the rich history to the best neighborhoods for the lifestyle you’re seeking. My hope is that Just in the City becomes a household name, synonymous with expert guidance, integrity, and a tailored real estate experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend or family member were visiting the area and I wanted to show them the absolute best time, we’d definitely kick things off on Thursday night and keep the fun going through Sunday.

We’d start in some of the most vibrant spots on the east side—exploring the Beltline and Ponce City Market. We’d grab a beer and a pretzel at New Realm Brewing, soaking in the incredible rooftop views of the city. From there, we’d hop over to a few of my favorite places for light bites—The Optimist is always a go-to for oyster happy hour. Afterward, we’d swing by Ruby’s for some delicious pizza craft beer.

No Atlanta weekend is complete without a trip to The Battery on the Smyrna side of town. While we’re there, I’d take them to one of my absolute favorite local spots—The Vineyard Wine Market—for a wine tasting or two.

On Friday night, we’d head over to Sandy Springs to catch our friends, Steven and DJ, performing at The Select. The atmosphere there is unmatched, with Instagram-worthy décor and great vibes.

And of course, we can’t forget about the suburbs—they’ve got their own charm, too! We’d spend some time in Alpharetta, checking out the Avalon for shopping and dining, and bar-hopping around the lively downtown Alpharetta area.

For my art and history-loving friends, there’s so much to explore in the city. We’d absolutely have to hit up The High Museum of Art and MODA (Museum of Design Atlanta) to round out the weekend.

It would be the perfect blend of city life, suburban gems, great food, drinks, and culture—a true Atlanta experience!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m incredibly grateful for the support system I have. Real estate is a challenging business—much harder than most people realize, especially when you’re operating at a high level. Having someone who has your back, serves as a sounding board, and offers encouragement is essential. For me, that person is my fiancé—soon-to-be husband in just two weeks—David Rudd.

David comes from a sales background, so he fully understands the nature of what I do and has always been a huge source of encouragement throughout my career. Not only does he support me behind the scenes, but he’s also actively involved in my business—often stepping in as our go-to IT support for my clients when needed. More importantly, he’s there to lift me up when the lows hit, which happens often in this industry. Real estate comes with incredible highs and tough lows, and having someone like David to navigate those ups and downs with makes all the difference.
