We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Cotton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The answer to that question is building strong relationships with our clients—understanding our client’s needs and fulfilling their unexpected wishes. At Spa Addict we genuinely care about every one of our clients. We have compassion and take pride in the work that we do consistently delivering high-quality service that builds trust and loyalty to our clients providing excellent customer service while creating a positive customer experience to gain repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals from existing, and previous clients as well as surrounding podiatrists in the area that trust us enough to send their patience to our facility.

At Spa Addict being authentic and transparent builds trust with our clients, which is crucial for long-term success and building a brand.

What should our readers know about your business?
With the nail industry so saturated I had to re-invent myself by targeting an untouched market, No one wanted to target the elderly or the underserved. I began traveling to assisted living and senior living facilities doing nails and it was like I hit a gold mine. One facility turned into two, two turned into three, and soon I had seven facilities and only one me.
Because I was servicing older clients who were immunocompromised and with diabetes, I thought now was the time to learn more about diabetic foot care, which is when I found an online course teaching about medical nails. To educate myself even more I began to work in podiatrist offices which allowed me to gain more knowledge.

I opened Spa Addict in May of 2021 and running a successful business. We offer Medical Pedicures for those clients who can’t go into your typical nail salons due to the fear of infections. We focus on the health and well-being of the feet and nails, helping address specific medical conditions and concerns.
The most challenging part of being a medical nail technician is dealing with clients with mobility issues and debilitating conditions however, that never stops us from working with them and we never want to turn any clients away.

One of the many lessons I’ve learned is to trust the process. God will give you your heart’s desire not when you think you’re ready but when he knows you are ready. God was preparing me this whole time. Working in spas, working in assisted and senior facilities doing feet that no one wanted to do, working long days for little pay, backaches, and shoulder pain but it’s all been worth it. I love that God has given me a gift where I can help others and make a difference in their lives.

That brings me to the most important lesson I’ve learned in life never to turn down the assignment that God has for you. My gift is also my assignment to be a servant and serve and God has blessed me to be a blessing to others.

I’m proud of myself for not giving up and betting on me and I’m excited about the future of Spa Addict’s growth letting the world know what we have to offer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband’s encouragement pushing me to be GREAT!!!
My three beautiful children Jenay, Mason, and jasmine cheering me on telling me how proud they are of their mom. They are my WHY?!
