Meet Jay Kim | Founder and owner of sticknwrap

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Kim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is a crucial factor when owning a business. Without it, there’s no room for growth and learning. As a business owner risk taking has given me many opportunities that I would not have imagined. Such as how much my brand has expanded as well as the sense of community it has given me and others. The biggest risk I believe that I have taken thus far would have to be taking part in events in addition to collaborations and new ventures such as apparel. A lot of time and effort goes into this event. We all understand that the turn out may not be ideal, but every year we are always pleasantly surprised by the results.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a local sign shop that currently is also branching out into apparel. We specialize in customizations, specifically on cars and commercial vehicles. The brand has been opened for over ten years. Quality is a top concern for us. We take pride in our work and do our best to provide quality for our customers. Starting from humble beginnings definitely is an obstacle in itself, but we have come a long way and have grown since then. The biggest lesson we’ve learned is that anything worth taking pride in, must be given your all. Hard work and consistency are highly valuable to us and we also strive to always be better.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d definitely recommend the Porsche experience. In my opinion, it’s something that you’ll have to experience at least once. Exploring Atlanta in itself is amazing and should be experienced. From visiting the variety of food and shops and even the rooftop park at Ponce City Market, catching an Atlanta United game to even visiting the aquarium, there’s going to always be options. In addition, places like Main Event, Top Golf, or Your 3rd Spot offer variety and has something for everyone.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give thanks to my family, who are a huge part of my support system and also motivate me. The friends and connections I have made and/or come across through the business. I would especially like to thank those who have supported my business all these years and have made this possible and given us the opportunity to grow as a company.
