Meet Jasmine Nove

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Nove and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It actually all started from something so small – designing a poster for my high school club. I absolutely fell in love with Canva and would find myself creating random designs just for fun. Then during my first year of college, I came across this TikTok about social media management. It was perfect timing for me since I was already making the drive from Flagstaff to Phoenix every weekend, and I realized this type of work would give me an actual reason to make that trip more often.
But what really pulled me in was that it combined things I already loved doing – designing graphics and editing videos. It wasn’t some grand business vision at first. It was literally just me thinking, “Wait, people will pay me to do the creative stuff I’m already doing for fun? And I can use it as an excuse to drive to Phoenix more?”
So take it as sometimes the best businesses don’t start from elaborate plans, but rather from just starting it and going head first with little to no planning. For me, it was that simple combination of design, creativity, and a good excuse for a road trip that eventually evolved into what Nove Media is today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started Nove Media almost by accident. It began with me designing a poster for my high school club and completely falling in love with Canva. I’d create designs randomly just for fun, finding joy in the creative process. Then during my first year of college, I stumbled across a TikTok about social media management that changed everything. I was already making the drive from Flagstaff to Phoenix every weekend, and I realized this job would give me an excuse to do it more often while still getting to design and edit videos – things I genuinely loved doing.
What evolved from there is now a social media agency that specifically works with beauty industry professionals. What truly sets us apart is our laser focus on one industry – we’re not trying to be everything to everyone. By exclusively serving beauty pros like hair stylists, makeup artists, and lash techs, we’ve developed strategies that actually work for their unique challenges and opportunities. The journey hasn’t been easy. My biggest hurdle was imposter syndrome – constantly wondering if I really knew enough to charge people for my services. I overcame this by focusing obsessively on results. When clients started seeing real growth in their businesses – not just in likes or followers, but in actual bookings and revenue – it validated that what I was doing had real value.
I’m most proud of our community-first approach. A lot of agencies just deliver content and vanish until the next deadline, but we’ve built genuine relationships with our clients. We celebrate their wins, troubleshoot their struggles, and create content that actually reflects who they are – not just some polished, sterile version of a beauty brand. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that authenticity beats algorithm-chasing every time. The beauty industry especially is built on trust and connection. People don’t just want a good haircut or perfect lashes – they want to feel comfortable with the person providing those services. So we’ve leaned hard into helping our clients show their personalities and build genuine connections online.
What I want the world to know about Nove Media is that we believe social media should be a tool that serves you, not stresses you. Too many beauty professionals are burning out trying to keep up with every platform and trend. We’re here to simplify that process, focus on what actually works, and help beauty pros build sustainable social media strategies that feel authentic to who they are.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate it to my parents for not thinking I was crazy going head first into this and rather supporting me through it and as well Jessica Hawks for being the person to introduce me to this world (and for her podcast features that I listened to the whole drive home after getting my first yes from a potential client to run their social media)
