We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaryn Hope and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaryn, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue an artistic career because I’ve always been an artist. It’s always been who I am, I would look forward to art class in school and spent my free time drawing and creating, it has always been my peace. Looking back my most satisfying memories are of the times where i was creating. Whenever i pursued anything outside of that, I felt so unsatisfied because I knew what I was meant to be pursuing, everything else was a distraction or a safety net. I’ve always worked hard for others, for others that would replace me at the slightest indifference, for others that couldn’t care less about me as a being, for others that only cared about what I could do for them. It got to the point where I put so much energy into working for others that I had little energy left to create. I decided enough was enough and that’s when I began to return this energy back into myself and my passions.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a multitalented artist. The foundation I stand on as an artist is my ability to draw. I was gifted with the love to draw and worked hard to develop the skills to draw anything with confidence. That branched into painting as I got older which challenged all that I learned drawing. Now I am learning to blend these two skills of drawing and painting to work together. Drawing inspired me to pursue tattooing with the Hope that I could one day give my drawings a permanent home. Along the way I gained an appreciation for body art and learned how to pierce. My love for body art opened my eyes to the power of art within movement of the body which pushed me to pursue yoga education to receive a yoga teacher certification. I had the pleasure of translating these movements into aerial silks and hoop and dancing. I know I know, when it comes to art I have no boundaries. I welcome so many mediums of art into my life, how could I possibly say no. At times it has been challenging juggling so many passion especially in a world where you’re expected to focus on one. But I am finally finding a balance to support all that I do. The biggest lesson I’m learning is realizing that everything doesn’t need to be now. That has given me the ability to relax and take my time with each passion. I am grateful that I have so many things that light a spark in me and I can shift my focus depending on what is aligning to me in each season I experience. I am still building my foundation as a full time artist. My brand is me, Jaryn Hope and I welcome you to watching me grow on my journey.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank Ren, my mentor. She was the bridge that gave me access to the world of creatives and an entrepreneurs. She took me under her wing and shared the blueprint she used to create her success at the cost of nothing. I don’t know how I would have had the courage to believe that I can be successful in this world without her. I am forever grateful for her, I am here because of her. I am appreciative of so many others but I would like to dedicate this Spotlight to Ren!
