We had the good fortune of connecting with Janae Pollard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Janae, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I asked myself what do the people around me need and what do I have to offer? What passion in me won’t go away?
I had been on a 3 year personal finance journey to wealth which led me to the idea of starting a business in the first place. I begin doing active market research talking to people about budgeting and personal finance. It was cool because again I had a passion for it, but free talks and getting people that already felt like they don’t have money to buy a budget wasn’t cutting it. I needed an actual product or service. I needed a self-seller, literally. I was a full time mom and employee and on the journey to build wealth through business. I had to do something that made both time sense and financial cents to me and those I served.
Taxes, everyone needs their taxes done and taxes can be the biggest expense of a household. It was a need that I knew I could fulfill and something I was already good at. I was an Accountant and remembered volunteering with VITA back in college and working for various franchises throughout the years. Although taxes weren’t joyful, I remembered how much I enjoyed helping people with their taxes, the smiles I would get when people got large refunds and the immediate planning of how families were going to spend their money. That was a reward for both them and myself. People are going to always need their taxes done and I can always be in the business of helping them gain financial peace through my products and services so here we are, Faithful Finances providing tax and financial solutions to families everywhere.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m still fairly new to living in the city, being here six months to date so I am very touristy. I am looking forward to doing a @blackgirlsguideatl tour and visiting the High Museum featuring the Obama’s for Black History Month. I’m actually taking my family when they visit for my birthday 2-22-22 Everywhere in Atlanta is usually a vibe and good energy though from brunch at Pin and Proper to lounge night at Boogalou or Suite or hanging at the market at Ponce. Any place that gives upscale aesthetics and good drinks is usually my vibe. I’m also a boymom so I enjoy the outdoor events, like the Movie in The Park at the Home Depot Backyard that was amazing and free and concerts and events at Piedmont. We’ve caught a Falcons and Hawks game and want to do more sporting events. You can get great food from literally everywhere around here so your girl eats good in the city. From Breakfast at Barney’s, Slutty Vegan, Pappadeux to Atlanta Fish Market and Two Urban Licks, Atlanta has a range for your tastebuds and lifestyle. I absolutely love it here.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God first for putting greatness in me. Patrice Washington, business mogul and host of Redefining Wealth podcast, deserves major credit. She helped me define what wealth meant to me and the great late Nipsey Hussle gets major credit for leaving the blueprint for creating wealth and financial literacy. My dad actually put me on to Nipsey so shout out to him too. We were on a road trip and my dad is playing Nipsey’s video in his truck, yes, my dad is an OG. But I watched Nipsey pull up to his hood, clean up this homeless man then give the man keys to his very own barbershop. I was so enlightened, because I had never seen or thought of anything like it honestly. The passion in me ignited and I started researching all about Nipsey. His words and history helped focus my perspective even more to legacy and wealth building. Life became less about what I could get from people now, to what legacy I could leave to this world forever. That’s the most rewarding thing in life because value given is value received 10 fold. Understanding Nipsey’s life and listening to his music helps me daily to pace myself in becoming both legendary and wealthy, not rich and popular. I move at my God given pace because I know wealth is not a race, it is indeed a marathon.
