We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaiden Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaiden, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea or as I would say the meaning behind my brand came from a situation that happened to me recently. I launched my brand after the mere fact of reality that hit that showed me who my “friends” were. This brand is an apparel company founded on the principle that when certain opportunities come, those you call your loved ones – “friends” turn on you with no second thoughts on how that would emotionally and mentally effect you or as the brand states — “Stab you in the back”. The main goal is to inspire our community with the latest clothing and style trends and to also walk with your statement, meaning turn your pain into passion and you don’t need friends to make it happen !

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Aside from running a clothing brand I also offer custom clothing services, graphic (GFX), logo work and video edits. I am a full time college student at Bowie State University majoring in entrepreneurship and I plan to extend my brand as well as start others. Being a full time college students and running a business is never easy because there are times where work piles up and orders need to be fulfilled. Because of this I’ve had to learn to maintain time management skills so I don’t fall behind on school or orders. sometimes this is hard because customers expect their items when they expect them. Being the creator, the packager, the manufacturer, the CEO and the the drop of person all in one does get hard especially if you are like me and have to get it all done Friday – Sunday because you are a college student. BUT! I don’t let it stop me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we were to plan a week long trip to eat I would say any place with really good burgers because you can’t go wrong there. I’m not really a soda or juice person but if I had to say drinks it would have to be something sweet and fruity. I like flavors like watermelon, mango and pineapple. For attractions Im more of an activity/hands on type of person so I’d have to go for something like bowling or go-kart racing. However, I would like to try hiking. In my area for a good time people normally visit places like Top golf or amusement parks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a special thanks to my parents, my 4 closest friends, others and of course my customers. Without my customers I wouldn’t have made it thus far with my brand. I thank my mother for supporting me, wearing my brand and telling people about other services I have to offer and I thank my dad for giving me the opportunity to better my skills by creating products for him and for being my role model in the business world. I also thank my sister for going out her way to drop off packages for me during the earlier stages of running my brand when I wasn’t able to offer shipping services.
