We had the good fortune of connecting with Izzy Oller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Izzy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When creating “Thx, It’s Thrifted!” I wanted a place where sustainability and affordability met! I often saw that when a brand was “sustainable” or “ethical” they used that as an excuse to price gouge and make it an exclusive space with their prices being so high, or it would be the complete opposite with a fast fashion unethical clothing brand with their prices super low. I felt that you shouldn’t have to choose between being ethical & sustainable and that’s how I came about starting my vintage & secondhand clothing business!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started “Thx, It’s Thrifted” curating vintage and secondhand clothes for my clients and it has now turned into me doing weekly collections filled with unique pieces and creating personal thrifted style bundles! I’d say that the personalized thrifted style bundles is what I love doing the most because I’m able to curate a specific look for my client and shop for them as many people do not have the eye or the time that it takes to shop for hours in a thrift store, so I’m here to do it for them! It definitely was not a straight shot getting to where I’m at now from where I started. I was self taught for everything I learned along the way since I started my business in high school. I’m now in college getting my business degree which has definitely helped me with learning to manage my growth! I think it is the most important to realize not everything will work out how you expect it to but I find that when that happens it can be better than imagined!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a huge breakfast & coffee lover and my favorite local spot just outside the city is Noble & Main Coffee in Cartersville! I love working on school & sitting there for a while to read or journal! Then I’d have to head on over to my favorite antique store, Queen of Hearts, in Marrietta! They always have to coolest pieces & I could spend hours walking around! One of my favorite little dinner spots is this cute Italian place called “Amore e Amore” The people are wonderful and it has such a warm and inviting atmospere!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
With all the work & effort I put in my boyfriend puts it all in equally behind the scenes with no credit. He has been my biggest supporter since day one and has always encouraged me to go for it and to keep pushing and trying new things! He’s always there helping me set up at pop ups, helping me package and ship out orders, and giving me new ideas!
