Meet Ituaje Okojie | Travel & Food Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ituaje Okojie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ituaje, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting Letters To You was a way to honor my mother and the love of travel she instilled in me. Growing up, we often dreamed of creating a travel blog we planned to call Naija Girl Takes The World. After her passing, that dream evolved into something even more meaningful—a tribute to her adventurous spirit and a way to share my passion for exploring the world, whether through luxury escapes, budget-friendly adventures, or discovering new foods. Cooking and trying local restaurants became a way for my sisters and me to bond and heal, reminding me how powerful food and travel can be in bringing people together.
This blog is my creative outlet and a testament to her influence, designed to inspire others to savor life’s simple pleasures. The letters I write are for her, to show her I’m thriving despite life’s challenges, but they’re also for my audience—to encourage them to embrace their own adventures. Through Letters To You, I’m grateful to share my world and connect with others who love food and travel as much as I do.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a technical business analyst by day and create content for Letters To You by night. Letters To You started as a hobby and has blossomed into a business that I’m incredibly proud of. Balancing both roles hasn’t always been easy; it often feels like I’m working two full-time jobs. However, I’ve learned to push through the challenges by staying organized and focused on what truly matters. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is to make time for your passions and show up consistently, even when it feels difficult. My journey is proof that with passion, determination, and a little creativity, you can make your dreams a reality.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here is my perfect week in Atlanta itinerary! This is best when the weather is warm
Day 1: Exploring Midtown & Ponce City Market
Start the trip with brunch at The Flying Biscuit Café for some classic Southern comfort food. Head to Piedmont Park for a scenic stroll and great views of the Atlanta skyline. From there, visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden to explore the stunning seasonal displays. For dinner, take them to Ponce City Market, where you can sample a variety of cuisines, and finish the day with drinks on the rooftop at 9 Mile Station enjoying panoramic views of the city.
Day 2: History & Culture in Downtown Atlanta
Visit my favorite food hall, the Chattahoochee Works and have some fun at Your 3rd Spot with over 100 different games. End the day at the Georgia Aquarium, walk through Centennial Park, and eat Aamir for great Indian food.
Day 3: BeltLine Adventures
Spend the day exploring the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. Rent bikes and make stops at the various murals and parks along the way. Grab food along the Beltline, there are so many different options. In the evening, have some fun at El Malo for great bar vibes.
Day 4: The Battery at Truist Park & Braves Games
Explore the Battery and catch a bite at the Punch Bowl Social or grab a frozen daiquiri from Fat Tuesdays. Watch a movie at Silverpoint and get something sweet from Jeni’s Ice Cream.
Day 5: Shopping & Luxury in Buckhead
Have brunch at Crescent City and dedicate a day to Buckhead for upscale shopping and dining. Spend time at Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, then unwind at Chastain Park with a relaxing walk. For dinner, try 5Church or Rreal Tacos.
Day 6: Day Trip to Stone Mountain
Venture outside the city for a day trip. Hike Stone Mountain Park for breathtaking views and a touch of nature, or visit Sweetwater Creek State Park for scenic trails closer to the city. End the day back in Atlanta with a casual dinner at Fellini’s Pizza or try Slutty Vegan for a great vegan burger.
Day 7: West Midtown
Visit the High Museum of Art for a nice museum experience. Spend the afternoon exploring Atlantic Station for shopping and bowl at Bowlero. For an upscale dinner try the Sundial or for a smaller, local vibe try Kabobland. For nightlife, my favorite lounge is Embr.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mother, Ms. Pam, whose unwavering love and guidance shaped the person I am today. She instilled in me the importance of living life with curiosity, passion, and a sense of adventure. Her words of encouragement and the example she set taught me to dream big, work hard, and always find joy in the journey.
