We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabella Mejia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isabella, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me it was an easy decision. I have always been a person with a vivid vision as far as what I want and the way I envision it. I have so much experience in so many different things It has made me obsess over details, and for me I felt like I saw so many type of business lack that component. I knew what would set me apart from others was my detailed oriented nature. I am a person that loves to curate experiences and I wasn’t new to that aspect. I knew it was a different type of business venture for me and I knew it would come with it challenges but I knew my mindset and work ethic would push me towards the success I envisioned for myself and the business. Especially having my young children I knew I needed something that would eventually put me in a situation where I would be flexible to my lifestyle. My oldest is middle school age and I want to her grow up knowing that she had a mom that overcame many obstacles in life but never let it stop her to achieving her goals, I want her to be a strong woman like myself. Having something I can call my own was very important to me. I felt like my way of thinking and the way I know people should be shared with others. I wanted to curate a place of acceptance, understanding and education. A place of combining clinical results with a more holistic approach incorporating touch and connection. I felt like this had not truly existed in my city and I have been working to create that very environment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So I am a licensed esthetician, with that being said I have a large scope of what I can practice. I am proficient in many things but when it came down to creating my business I didn’t want to be so spread out, doing so many things. I knew I wanted to be in my own lane and known for a certain thing. I knew I loved the results of a clinical setting of advanced treatments in the esthetics world but I loved the environment of a relaxing spa that focused on massage and touch. I hated that clinical treatments felt like a chore and used gloves, it felt very impersonal to me. On the other hand relaxing spas were so great, that they so inviting and I felt so zen after a session, but it felt like the overall treatment wasn’t very results driven. So just based off of my own personal experience of different places I knew after graduating school I wanted to create a space that bridged that gap. I wanted to curate an environment where both of the aspects can coexist. I didn’t want my clients to feel like they were just another appointment or retail ticket, but to have a space where they feel seen. An environment where they can be educated about their skin and to create realistic plans for them to follow. I didn’t want to feel like another establishment where they lay down get some products slapped on their face then go home still not quite understanding why their skin is in the condition it is in. After esthetics school i realized how many people just “don’t know” and this is the truth. Skin is such a complex part of ourselves that we truly don’t understand. Not one person in this world is created the same, and this goes for our skin. So why would we treat it all the same? I did not want my space to feel like one size fits all because it doesn’t. The truth is that people being different is a beautiful thing, and people understanding that is rare. Especially with social media it is so hard not to compare yourself to others, but being different is being beautiful. Having different skin colors, unique facial features and not having perfect skin is also beautiful. Feeling confident and educated about your individual skin’s needs is skincare. Finding plans and products that fit the consumer’s budget and not what I think they should buy is skincare. Giving that person a vulnerable space where they can learn the root of the problem and not feel judge is also skincare. This is why in all of my treatments I am never following a protocol, I never do the same massage, I never do a copy and paste treatment. Everything I do I by intuition, that’s why all of my services are customized. This is where education comes into play. Without having an extensive background in education there is no way to truly accomplish this. This is the most important aspect for me. I have taken it upon myself to constantly be learning, and growing. There is something new to learn always. My mind is my most valuable aspect, because with it I can curate customized plans. I can detect issues and read the skin in a way where it can tell me a story about that individual. For me its understanding that person, building that level of rapport to understand them and what they come from. Sometimes a person’s traumas cane show up in the skin and without having that level of trust there is no way we could unlock that.

I believe that true skin transformation requires two things: clinical results and deep restoration. My brand bridges this gap by merging targeted, corrective skincare with a deeply relaxing, holistic touch. By incorporating extensive facial massage into every single treatment, I treat both the skin and the nervous system. You truly get the best of both worlds.I do not believe in cookie cutter beauty. This is why you won’t find a long, confusing menu of different facials. Instead, clients simply book a Custom Facial, and I handle the rest. I curate a bespoke strategy for each individual, constantly reassessing the skin at every visit to adjust the treatment plan. My goal is to give clients a deep, clear understanding of their skin’s evolving needs, while designing realistic, easy to follow routines that never overwhelm or overcomplicate daily life. What truly sets me apart in this industry is my meticulous attention to detail and unwavering care. I treat every client’s skin journey as if it were my own. I listen closely, observe what others miss, and pour intentional energy into every service. For me, skincare isn’t just a business it is a dedicated, personalized partnership focused on lasting skin health.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have many sources of mentorship I owe my success to. I have always been big on community in general. From my friend group who has always been a pillar of strength for me in my darkest days, to my loving partner who has poured so much love and enlightenment into me over the years, to so many amazing people I have has the pleasure to cross paths with in the hospitality industry I have truly learned so much from all of them in different aspects. However there is one mentor that does stand out to me. My old mentor/ manager of many years, Ali Ebrahimi. I met Ali when i was 19 years old, he was my sister’s good friend and mentor at the time. She worked in a bar with him and he had been showing her the ropes. Initially when we met it was only because my sister had asked him to give me a job, since I had just had my daughter I was looking to get into hospitality for the flexibility. For years he had mentored my sister and I but not in the most conventional way. He was very hard on us, never sugar coated anything and constantly challenged us to be better and keep evolving. Created a standard for me, he was also detailed obsessed and did not accept anything mediocre or basic. He was constantly elevating the experience, and everytime i thought i reached his standard he’d raise the bar just a little higher. There were days I felt like I couldn’t keep up and doubted myself and he didn’t give me much reassurance. My his tough love had honestly changed my mindset completely. Unable to be content with just anything I strived to always be evolving and growing and learning. He taught me to always educated yourself on everything and that even on days you’re not mentally there that you keep going and keep pushing, everything is a mental game. For that I thank him because he molding me from a little naive girl to a woman with work ethic and vision. We have not worked together in years but I have told him how much I have appreciated everything he has given me and how much it has meant to me, so this is not a surprise to him.
