We had the good fortune of connecting with Inetta Lowery and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Inetta, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Betting on myself was never a risk. I’ve also learned that your surroundings can condition you to be afraid of taking leaps. And, since I’m a born Leader. I started writing plans and creating the blueprints for my businesses. I used the resources from my 9-5 job to fund my successes. I kept my mouth closed and nobody knew how I was moving except the ones who needed to know. From then, it was just a matter of time that Corporate America would be a thing of the past.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The biggest thing that sets me apart from others is knowing when to listen and be quiet simultaneously. That’s been my biggest flex. And, with having such a strong personality. It’s not always easy to sit idle and absorb what someone else is telling you. I never allow myself to stop learning. Because ultimately, your successes both personally and professionally, will depend on you. Life has also taught me that it’s important to have a genre of friends from all demographics and upbringing. Friends from the streets and the Boardrooms, so you can know how to pivot in all situations. Take pieces from everyone’s story, connect what works for you and make it into your own artistry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If it’s one of my bourgeois friends, lol. Then, we’re going to a few brunch spots before hitting some boutiques downtown. We may have dinner at a Winery, Piano Bar or enjoy some Live Entertainment after all our shopping. A friend from “Down the Way” is a whole different vibe altogether. That could be us linking up on our motorcycles, shooting pool and eating chicken wings at a bar. Or, just having an impromptu Bar-B-Que in somebody’s backyard with the music blasting and a trash talking Spades table. The best times are usually unplanned and organic fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In addition to my own drive and self motivation. I’d have to pay the utmost respect for the mentorship and encouragement I received from the circle of strong men I’m around. They have lengthy experiences and are rooted deeply in trucking which is such a male dominated arena. My Army Veteran, Uncle Deke, knew I’d refuse to back down to any adversities and kept pushing me. There are others (IYKYK) who are still solid with me as well.

I can say this now… I used to sit on my 9-5 job and created the blueprint to establish my trucking business. I became “The Prototype” at multi-tasking. Then, I’d show houses during my lunch breaks and late evenings. I even finished writing a book at my desk called, Souled Out: The Secrets on West Side (sold on Amazon & Barnes & Noble). My wheels started turning. When I started seeing the fruits of my labor in Real Estate. That’s when I knew it was time to say good bye to Corporate America and bet on myself! I bought my first 18-Wheeler truck and put a Driver in the seat. I took a huge leap to inspire other females that come behind me.
