We had the good fortune of connecting with Hope Trilly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hope, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite affirmation is “Never Lose Hope”. It is a phrase I came up with to keep myself inspired. My real name is Hope, so this affirmation is actually a triple entendre. It means to never lose faith in myself, as well as never losing faith in God’s plan. As an emcee, battle rapper & artist, I embrace the competitive nature of hip-hop. I love winning and overcoming obstacles. Even in my shortcomings, I still win because there’s triumph in facing hardships.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been writing and recording music since I was a teenager. I’ve gotten where I am today by never giving up my dream, perfecting my skills, & consistently networking. It was not an easy process, there were many times I felt discouraged. However, creating music has been the most constant aspect of my life. The journey has been so organic & I’ve been blessed with many opportunities. I have released several EPs and music videos that have garnered thousands of views. I have had the opportunity to be a cast member on two reality tv shows, “Hitman Holla’s Bags and Bodies” & “Rickey Smiley For Real”. I have battle rapped on several battle rap leagues such as Chrome 23 & Queen of the Ring. I want the world to know that not only am I a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop world, but I am a genuine, down to earth, incredible young woman.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week we would definitely go see the city, enjoy the nightlife, try out new restaurants and also make time where we can stay in relax to catch each other up on our lives. And watch terrible movies for a good laugh lol.

I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my amazing family & friends for always supporting me through all my endeavors. Shoutout to my awesome team, 80 Grand Music. Shoutout to my son for being one of my biggest motivators to pursue my passion
