Meet Hannah Hinton | Photographer, Owner of Golden Hint Visuals, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Hinton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by love in all forms, shapes & sizes. As a creative, what gives me light is seeing human connection. All the emotions come flooding in. I just can’t help but want to documenting these emotions in the most raw and real way possible. Knowing my clients have these images to look back on forever gives me so much happiness.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
To me, photography is capturing a moment and preserving it forever. It been a safe space for me to learn, grow, and find my voice. When I was overwhelmed in my last year of nursing school, I felt a pull to pick up my camera and start taking photos. That quickly turned into taking them of family, friends, strangers, and ultimately starting my very own business. Growing my photography business as a college student and new nurse was no easy feat. It meant rarely having a weekend off, saving up for “big girl” equipment, re-branding, carving out time to learn new techniques, networking, etc. However, every time I would feel overwhelmed, it was my clients that kept me so encouraged. Every couple and family is so different. The feeling of exceeding the expectations of my clients is what keeps me constantly on my toes, and growing my creative eye. Knowing that the photos I take hold such a special place in their hearts of so many is why I adore what I do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is such a fun city with so much to explore! Checkout Ponce City Market and take a long bike ride on the Beltline. Stop at King of Pops for a refreshing treat if you get tired! The Beltine will connect you to Krog Street Market, which is a blast. Make sure to stop at the Collective to grab a souvenir and/or plant to take home! Don’t forget that Atlanta has beautiful trails! I would recommend spending a day in nature along the Chattahoochee. Go for a hike, float down the river or simply lay out and catch the breeze! In the evening, you should get tickets to an an Atlanta Braves game to get in on the action. Make sure to grab an Antico’s Pizza and a scoop of Jeni’s ice cream before you head home!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Growing up, my dad rarely didn’t have a camera in front of my siblings and I. It wasn’t until middle school, when I got a DSLR of my own, that I really started to find my passion on the other side of the lens. He taught me all about the fundamental rules of photography and allowed me to find my creative space. I am so thankful to have been introduced to this passion by him at such a young age. It is a hobby we will forever share!
