We had the good fortune of connecting with Frantinique Finn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frantinique, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was creating a safe health and beauty brand for women that was affordable, relatable, and encouraging. My business slogan is “Beautify the hand God dealt you” meaning that no matter the cards life has dealt you always play like you have a winning hand.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The thing that set my business apart from others is that I offer health and beauty a “one stop shop” if you will. I also offer business start up classes and I design logos, business cards, flyers etc. It took and still takes.dedication, hard work, and sacrifice to get me where I am going and where I want to be.
Some lessons I learned along the way is that sometimes we learn by teaching others, networking, and sharing information.
I want the world to know that I had to overcome many obstacles when creating my brand and if they find that they are relentless in their lives and have survived certain challenges then this is the brand for them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from Birmingham, Alabama which is. known for being the home of many Civil Rights Movements I would make sure we visit some of the prestigious land marks such as 16th Street Baptist Church, Kelly Ingram Park, and the Civil Rights Musuem. Later we could grab something to eat from the Uptown. Of course we would have to get something sweet from K&J Pastries (a new black owned bakery to the area). To get a taste of the night life there are many bars and restaurants we could visit like the Plum Bar or Woodlawn Lounge or bar hop in the downtown/Southside area. One day we could do brunch; one of my favorite brunch spots is Big Bad Breakfast. If my friend is a thrill seeker then we would have to go to Splash Adventures. One day we could do dinner and a movie at the Shops of Grand River Drive in Movie Theatre! If my friend want to do some learning while they visit we can go to the Mcwane Science Center, The Birmingham Zoo, The Musuem of Art, or the Flight Musuem.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I would like to give a shout out to is my family “it takes a village to raise a child” and I have an amazing and supportive village.

Second I would like to shout out Lakeisha Finn and Cheerese Moore. Both of these women are entrepreneurs who encouraged me and lift me up no matter how busy they got or I got.
