We had the good fortune of connecting with Felicia Drummond and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Felicia, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Habits that have helped me succeed would be the habits of having a routine from playing college basketball. This has helped me to develop organization and hold myself to a higher standard in everyday life as well as being a small business owner. Developing healthy habits has also allowed me to develop self discipline.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business is DITCH (Developing Individuals to Compete Higher). This is a non profit 501(c)(3) that I started 3 years ago. It focuses on health and wellness of both adults and youth in the community. Our goal is to educate on the importance of health, fitness, and nutrition. As a former D-1 and pro basketball player it was also important to me offer fundamental development in sports for youth who are athletes. I love working with youth and helping them to meet their goal on becoming a better athlete not just in sports but in life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend comes in town, being she is vegetarian and I’m pescatarian/vegan, lol. I take her to Bar Vegan. The food there is good and there is always a good vibe. We are both pretty chill, so I would take her to The Pirates boil because it’s my favorite seafood restaurant here. They also have good food and drink and they have all the sports games on that are in season and they play really good music, so that’s always a vibe. We both like Mexican food so, I would take her to Guac and Margys they have vegetarian options as well as good music. I would take her to Fellowship because she likes cigar bars, I don’t smoke but the vibes in there are always nice and I don’t have to worry about the smoke. It’s well ventilated. On her last day we would go back to bar vegan for their brunch because very one loves brunch, lol. And this would be our week of hanging out in and around Atlanta.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I’d like to shout out GOD, without his grace, guidance, and love I would not be me. The group of individuals I would I’d like shout out would be my mother, and friends. They have been there every step of the way through every event in my life. I’m currently in my PhD program and they are always there encouraging me and reminding me that I got this. Without their support efforts, I’m not sure I would’ve come as far as they have.
